46 people found dead in tractor trailer near San Antonio

As long as politicians make it sound like the US supports and welcomes undocumented immigrants, this will continue. Read this article about the family from India who died trying to walk across the Canadian border in January 2022.

This quote comes directly from the article:
“And there were perhaps idealised views of life abroad. "There are many people earlier as well who had gone to US without proper documentation, and many of them are doing well," said another.”

https://www.bbc.com/news/world-us-canada-60290955.amp

These deaths are senseless and tragic. The family had a comfortable life in India, but had ideas that they could easily come and be successful in the IS as undocumented immigrants. This has to end.

Sure. Because all the super ‘progressive’ liberal moms I know who live in Potomac and McLean aren’t hiring contractors and housekeepers who are undocumented, right? All while they brag about ‘No Human Is Illegal’.

Plenty of Democrat business owners who want this flow of cheap labor to continue.

What social welfare benefits do you think people who don't have status in the US are getting?

Free education for their children for one.

Free education that includes free or reduced breakfast and lunch, free glasses, free medical care in school nurses office, free special ed services if needed, opportunity to go to college or tech school on scholarship, etc.

Abbott is so f’ing incompetent.

I completely agree. He made big publicity about pulling Texas Rangers and assigning them to the border and they let this happen. He assumed the responsibility so it rests on him.

Nice try.
The border is unfortunately under control of the federal government. This is on Biden and his totally inept administration.
The Texas Rangers can only be assigned to areas of the border that are under state or local control. This fake tractor trailer came through at a border crossing, which is under federal control.

Since Biden has proven incapable of securing the border, Governor Abbott is implementing new truck check points. He shouldn't have to do this... because, again, it is the role of the federal government.

Abbott and the bozos…I mean Texas Ranger did not stop one truck load of illegals last time. Not much chance of doing this time. They are all on the take down that way including the governor.

And let’s be clear that all of these ‘free’ benefits are free to the undocumented immigrants. But they are paid for by taxpayers. Usually that means middle-class and working class individuals, since the wealthy know how to avoid taxes and the poor can get tax relief and tax credits.

You want to know why the middle class here in the US is being squeezed? This is one of the many reasons. Our taxes continue to rise to subsidize these social programs for millions and millions of undocumented immigrants.

NP but I do think this is one of the reasons the GOP will take the house in the midterms. People, whether correct or not, see the democrats taking better care of undocumented immigrants than their own citizens.

Correct or not?
It is actually very correct.

It was just reported that these individuals paid to be smuggled in. They were not in the truck against their will. One of the men had snuck across the border previously lived and worked in Ohio, went back to Mexico to visit family and was sneaking back in to Ohio on this unfortunate trip.

Agreed.

NYS offers grants for undocumented immigrants to attend colleges. There is only a finite amount of money. If they are using this money for undocumented students, then that means less money for kids who are citizens.

Our public schools don’t have enough money for toilet paper and textbooks. Our class sizes are ginormous. Yet, kids who are ESOL get small class sizes, free meals and free field trips.

The cartels run our borders under the Biden presidency.

We will only see more incidents like this unless and until Biden decides that his border policies are a liability for him and the Democratic party.
Because that is what it will take. I am convinced that his policies are intentional and that he wants more illegal immigration. But, if he sees it as a liability, he MAY change course.

The only leader that has taken accountability is Nayib Bukele of El Salvador who stepped up after that horrible accident where the father and his daughter drowned in the Rio Grande trying to cross. Bukele made it a point to say publicly that El Salvador is at fault for driving them to migrate.

Thanks for pointing this out. I hadn't heard this about the President of El Salvador. What a difference from the President of Mexico in the current situation-- I belief he blamed America for what happened. Why doesn't he improve his government so that people arent driven to these measures to escape?

There have been more incidents like this an I agree that there will be more. The media chooses not to put too much emphasis on them, however. And the public seems to tolerate these types of stories.

I am in a super liberal area. Honestly, unchecked illegal immigration affects my life and my family’s life on a daily basis. As is the case for most of my neighbors. Doesn’t matter though, they all rabidly support the Democrats and rabidly support policies that promote undocumented immigrants. Not quite sure of the logic, but I don’t see Biden or the Democrats changing course with respect to this issue.

It just emboldens illegal aliens to keep coming and keep taking risks that end up killing people. Shame on Biden and the Democrats for failing to understand the basic concept of moral hazard.
