Sounds like you're suggesting they should be placed in another school district as being placed in the Whitman district is too much of an adjustment for them. |
That place is a terrible neighbor. Truly terrible. |
I’ll tell you. MCPS and the Pyle and Whitman principal wish the place would disappear. A lot of their discipline problems come out of there. |
Then it is up to the community to push back. Ask for a town hall with the board. Have the PTA of the schools get involved. List and Boycott donors. Call for accountability. |
| How are they allowed to wander the area unsupervised? |
And maybe that is true. |
Yup. |
DP Obviously it is too big a step for these kids. Typical DC behavior to export its problems to the suburbs. |
I would be much more understanding and supportive of NCCF if they were supporting at risk MC kids. The idea that they are importing these kids from outside the county really bothers me in so many levels. First, it treats the kids like they are some sort of commodity. But second, this organization received millions upon millions from the state and county. They should serve the kids in our community first. Clearly they have a problem with their priorities which carry’s over into their operational failings. They failed these kids. This murder is on them. |
You seem like someone who has a hard time understanding the basics of geography. Our community is Montgomery County. It is a big county with over 1 million people. Within that 1 million people there are plenty of kids who need support and our tax dollars should be prioritized to supporting them. Our tax dollars should not be used to support importing troubled DC teens. |
Has NCCF ever released studies to prove proof of concept? |
| You all act like Whitman students in general don’t have a murder every few years. |
Link? |

You all make is sound like Whitman never has a problem. It is just like all the other schools, stop denying it, stop trying to pin it all on the kids who are not as fortunate as your kids.
When it does involve a white Whitman kid or coach the parents and students try to justify it, The Smoothie King robbery was "blown out of proportion" The kids that blew themselves up was " a prank" or the parents who complained during the drug busts on the hill. It is the culture of the parents at that school who only push back when the kids causing trouble don't look like them. |
| Keep them where they are. We don't need more troubled youth in other schools. We have plenty to keep us busy. |
