Did Ellen Greenberg’s fiancé kill her?

Of course he killed her. He was enraged when she wouldn’t let him back into the apartment after he went to the gym following their quarrel. He broke in, murdered her in a rage, then got busy covering it up with the help of family and friends in high places.

The Greenbergs are unlikely to ever get justice for Ellen, given the mess made by law enforcement at all levels.

Who are the guy’s family that they’re this powerful? I haven’t read anyone detailing their money and power. Must be immense.

Why do I feel like this is the new wife finding a mommy site and this, to her, unfortunate thread.

I'm pp and suggest all the crime junkies out there to nominate this case for a podcast, so amateur sleuths can bust this wide open and create a lot of publicity. I can't believe anyone can doubt that she was murdered with these basic facts.

Haha I am the above poster and can assure you I am not married to Sam. Nor do I have any connection.

But if Sam did murder her, what evidence could come out now to bring a case against him? Unless he confesses or makes incriminating statements to someone. Like wife #2. If he did murder her, I just don’t see enough, assuming of course that all the evidence is public.

I’m all about a podcast though. I think there might be some podcast episodes on this which I may listen to this afternoon. One thing is for sure, the investigation was bungled. I still lean toward this being a bizarre suicide, but the police did a terrible job.

I can’t wrap my mind around how anyone could think this was suicide. She looks like she was a 100 pounds wet. How could she get through the sternum and stab herself in the heart after all the other wounds she had? Do you think her antidepressants turned her into Superman? Take a look at the butcher at your local grocery store. It takes muscle to break through bone and now imagine that it’s your own.

How do you think she could physical do that? The fiancé, on other hand, looks beefy, like he could easily break her in two. I, for one, have no reasonable doubt as to what happened here.

Do you also think Scott Peterson is innocent? That an evil cult kidnapped Lacey? Because that’s what you sound like.

Most certainly think Scott Peterson is guilty and almost always think the love interest is guilty. But here, they weren’t married, no baby on the way, no divorce or money issues. No evidence of abuse. Not saying he was a Prince Charming, I can’t find all that much about him or their relationship aside from her friends and family saying they had a nice relationship.

The stabs to the back of the neck are extremely questionable and hard to believe she did. Which as far as I can tell is the only reason anyone thinks he did it. But that is not enough to bring murder charges against someone. And why him and not some other intruder if you’re so sure she was murdered?

It seems like you have a personal stake in this case bc no reasonable person could say he murdered her beyond a reasonable doubt.

I do know know and do not claim to know with any certainty what happened. But I don’t think he will face charges.

Not married, no baby on the way, no divorce or money issues - that describes the status quo between a large percentage of couples where the man kills the woman.

She was trying to leave him, to move back home with her parents. The relationship was clearly troubled. In a large number of cases of domestic violence homicide, family and friends report not knowing there was a troubled relationship or history of abuse - it is VERY common for women to cover up for their abusive partner. Statistically when women try to leave is when they get murdered - controlling and possessive men DO NOT accept being left. With a wedding impending it is especially ego destabilizing for such men when they get left not far from the altar - it is the ultimate rejection.

+1 I don't understand how a rational, truthful person could come to any other conclusion.

Actually, having given it a little more thought, it is my suspicion that he walked up behind her as she stood at the counter eating the fruit salad she'd just cut up and looking at wedding websites, and stabbed her repeatedly in the back of the head/neck, immediately rendering her incapable of any attempts at self defense. Then he stabbed her in the heart and placed the knife, incorrectly, in her non dominant hand as he was staging the scene - which included going out into the hall and yelling at her and sending the text messages about the locked door and then calling his family.

Just another male psychopath lurking among us and hiding behind the mask of 'nice guy.' I'll be keeping his current wife and kids in my prayers.

Is the guy's family that powerful? A murder coverup conspiracy in a major U.S. city (Philly) seems like you'd have to be billionaire level powerful.

The finance's family is allegedly tied to PA state politics and are donors among PA elected officials:

It strikes me as totally inexplicable how a person could a) stab themself 20 times and b) stab themself in the BACK

it is ludicrous

Can you imagine being Sam’s wife now after all this is coming to the surface because of Josh Shapiro’s VP bid? So creepy knowing you could be married to a violent psychopath.

This isn't the first time she's heard about this.

They got married about 3 years after the murder.

Did the now-husband and wife already know each other prior to the death of Ellen Greenberg? What's their timeline?

Hmmmmm. I have a suspicion that their "meet cute" isn't on the up-and-up.

Indeed he did it... NO DOUBT. Nice to have a prominent Judge in the family to get rid of the evidence and pull some political strings. Then rule it as a suicide, so it doesn't get investigated. GUILTY AND INSIDIOUS!
