If it were only that simple oh selfish one. But, thank goodness you can get them easily on Amazon. |
How about you stop spreading covid and then it will be safer for all of us. |
Personally I'd prefer this: https://www.nationaltoolwarehouse.com/Versaflo-Powered-Air-Purifying-Respirator-Painters-Kit-TR-800-PSK94248AAD-1-EACase-P310909.aspx?utm_source=google&utm_medium=cpc&utm_campaign=NTW+-+0+-+Smart+Shopping+-+All+Products+-+660&utm_term=&gclid=EAIaIQobChMIya_y6tTm8wIVDAmGCh1nQQ1cEAkYASABEgJw9_D_BwE How are you not living a normal life? How is masking that big of a deal? Your life is fully back to normal so grow up and mask up. |
Nah. Don't feel like. A couple more days and masks will be in the past for MoCo. Glad I'm vaccinated and not obese. |

I was in NJ thus weekend for a youth sports event. Hotels. Restaurants. Arenas. Masks were recommended , but not mandatory. In a Blue state….couldn’t believe it. Didn’t think the local politics would allow it.
All it did for me was to confirm again how truly the DC area is in a bubble. Many Blue and Red states are making every effort to get back to normal and our region has legions of people who just refuse to move forward, live in 24/7 fear and hoping for some type of long term adoption of COVID type monitoring and rules. Go travel. Talk to people in other states. Watch them live. Its great to see! |
You seem confused about why Covid will kill fewer people as it becomes endemic. It quite likely will not get less virulent- Delta is already very infectious early in the disease progression, so a less deadly version probably wouldn't have a competitive advantage in transmission. Instead, two things will happen. First, the spread will slow down a bit. We're not sure how much, particularly given that the vaccines are about 80% effective at preventing infection. So, there's still a very good chance you'll be repeatedly exposed to Covid throughout your life. Second, individuals will develop their own immunity over time, or die trying. It doesn't particularly matter whether you get Covid now or 5 years from now. Provided you've been vaccinated, the outcome would likely be the same. |
Ate in a restaurant in VA today. Most people, even wait staff, were without masks. The wait staff must be vaccinated per the restaurant’s rules. I am vaccinated as well. Not everyone wears a mask once vaccinated. |
Yeah. I mean we’ve not had the mandate in Fairfax for many months and things have been going ok. People have been making their own choices and there is no massive carnage. We’ll see how winter goes. |

This is such great news!
Masks optional. Skip the mask mandates. It’s time. |
| Today we dropped to 45.4 per 100 K. Montgomery county is still on track for dropping the mask mandate. |
So we made it to Day 6? Looks like we are still on track for masks off by Friday? |
and NJ is seeing steady drops in transmission. In fact, Union County has one of the lowest transmission rates in the country. It's time to vaccinate, take precautions if YOU need them, and start to regain perspective/balance. We cannot live masked until there is zero spread. It's never going to happen. Just like the flu, strep, colds, norovirus, etc. Assess your level of risk tolerance and behave accordingly. Vaccinate, of course, as you would for any highly infectious disease. |
If by "Friday" you mean "first thing Thursday morning," then yes. The health officer can take as much time as he wants to issue his notification, but the mandate automatically lifts once we've hit 7 consecutive days. |
Why is it Friday rather than Thursday, assuming tomorrow becomes day 7? |
Same observations from eastern Massachusetts and central CT over the past 4 days. This includes Boston which technically still has a mask mandate in the city but everyone seems to treat it as optional. All heavily “blue” areas that have stopped treating common sense like a political football. My relatives in both states are amused to hear how ridiculous we are in MOCO. |
