and NJ is seeing steady drops in transmission.  In fact, Union County has one of the lowest transmission rates in the country.  It's time to vaccinate, take precautions if YOU need them, and start to regain perspective/balance.  We cannot live masked until there is zero spread.  It's never going to happen.  Just like the flu, strep, colds, norovirus, etc.  Assess your level of risk tolerance and behave accordingly.  Vaccinate, of course, as you would for any highly infectious disease.[/quote]

Same observations from eastern Massachusetts and central CT over the past 4 days. This includes Boston which technically still has a mask mandate in the city but everyone seems to treat it as optional. All heavily “blue” areas that have stopped treating common sense like a political football. My relatives in both states are amused to hear how ridiculous we are in MOCO. [/quote]
