| I’m vaccinated and I’m excited to not have to wear a mask when I run into the grocery store or Starbucks |
Can someone explain what you hate about masks? I kind of like them. I work in a public building, and it's nice not to be sick all the time from other people's germs. And with masks, you don't have to worry about having salad stuck in your teeth after lunch.

I have a hard time gauging someone's mood. And sometimes I have trouble understanding them when they speak. Particularly if they have an accent. For some reason, being able to see their mouths move helps me understand people better. I don't have hearing loss (I just had it tested). But I do find the masks make it difficult to communicate in stores or worse, restaurants which are noisier. I can't smile a greeting at people who otherwise can't hear me (at work, the security guard behind glass, for example). It just really puts a damper on a lot of the facial expressions I'm used to using with strangers to convey friendliness or greetings. It's fine as a temporary measure, but I hate it long term. |
I'm too beautiful to cover my face. |

It feels restricting to me. Like I’m breathing in gross hot air all the time and just my own breath. It’s harder for me to understand what people say. I wear a mask at work all day and when I step outside and take it off I instantly feel lighter and more free. I know it sounds weird but I notice the mask all the time and dislike it. |
I teach an ES grade. I have difficulty hearing some of the students. They are slower to react, or don’t react to me when I’m giving directions. It’s difficult to read aloud to the class. |
Try giving a seminar for four hours in a mask. I can't says s or r by the end. |
| Every once in a while something happens that I'm thankful I live in Fairfax County and not over the river. |
| Really sad. I rarely shop except grocery shopping as its not worth the risk and now I will not even be able to do that. |
I can't breath in them easily, I take tons of medications to try to make my breathing better and nothing works. Everyone hates them but you wear them for safety. |
This is correct, esp in areas (like this area) that have very high vaccination rates. However, risk assessment is notoriously hard for humans and there is a lot of emotional attachment to masks right now. (ps if you look at the science, the benefit that the cloth masks bring seem to be relatively negligible. surgical masks are bit different) |
You know what's even more important of why? Because you can still get and spread covid vaccinated. There was already a selfish teacher who spread it to her students. You really think that's the right choice given you could KILL one of your students? |
