Most of the masks I see people wearing are disposable masks. |
This right here. |

With variants still popping up (ex. omicron), it's unwise to remove harmless preventative measures.
People pushing for unmasking may not be acting in the best interests of the United States. Europe is bracing for omicron and NY just declared a disaster emergency. Now is not the time to unmask. |
Disposable masks are polluting the environment. Think of all the species in the ocean killed by the ear loops. |
Except for the whole thing about masks providing little to no benefit in practice thing, when you consider what types of masks people wear and how they wear them. |
| Most everyone I see is wearing surgical masks or kn95 type masks. The people now wearing cloth masks are the ones who think this is only theater. |
Yup. I bought one layer gauze masks from Etsy, for the rare times I need to wear one. I’ve always considered this to be theater to make the anxious feel better. |
You are so right these are contributing to environmental harm. Why don’t the manufacturers make them bio degradeable? |
Are they embroidered with "I'm a jerk" on them, or is that unnecessary? |
Can you show us the evidence that they are theater? You keep posting they are theater but have yet to give us evidence of that. |
So don't litter. And when you see one that someone else has littered, pick it up and dispose of it properly. |
It depends on the cloth mask. It depends if they are 1 layer or multiple layers. It depends on if they have a non-woven filter in them or not. YOU understand that right? Not all cloth masks are made the same. |
The onus is on the proponents of masks to show they make a meaningful difference. I don’t have to prove anything. |
They look like they’re real masks, it’s really difficult to see any difference. I’ve worn them on several flights and in medical settings without incident. So, yes, I’m a jerk. But there’s no way to tell I’ve been side stepping mask mandates since nearly day one. |
Yes, you are. |
