Public companies report sales quarterly, there is data for three quarters in 2021. |
I see you fear to put your claims to the test. Or maybe you are just SOOOO busy charging your electric car you can't be bothered with easily verifiable facts. |
|
What are the easily verifiable facts you’d like to put to the test?
It takes me a total of 4 seconds to charge my car. 2 seconds to plug in and two seconds to plug out. In the morning it is fully charged and I can just go about my day. |
omg lol I just peeked back in this thread and see I'm being accused of being Jeff! haha |
hahaha which one are you? I am the one who had a vacation with annoying EC people, NOT 500 mile trip, person with mom, or person with neighbors whose cords are a trip hazard. And not Jeff! |
Just ask Jeff to verify I am not the other people I just listed. He does this regularly re: people accused of being trolls. Though I guess you think Jeff hates electric cars and I am Jeff? That is hilarious. "Going about your day" doesn't involve long road trips. I have no doubt electric cars are perfectly fine for people who have a daily commute in a smallish car, and have no need for more. Congrats! But your skepticism as to why that isn't a universal truth is....odd. |

To the Jeff troll with multiple personality disorder.
I’m glad you find the whole situation entertaining. It is really fascinating how all your alter egos come out of the woodwork, posting at the same time. A very peculiar coincidence indeed. Seriously though, I say this with compassion, you need professional help, and I beg you, please sign up for therapy. What you are doing to yourself can be harmful. On to your questions. It takes me 20 minutes to charge from 10% to 90% during road trips. I stop after three hours and over 10 trips I never had to charge more than once because I won’t drive over 500 miles in a day. Would you like to fact check that? |
| Because there are no nice electric cars with the possible exception of the e-tron. Just bought DC a Jeep Wrangler hybrid which basically sucks but it was what they wanted. I’ll wait until the new Mercedes electric comes out and try that. |
|
I'm sure I'll own an electric car someday. No rush, however. Only the Tesla potentially appeals. But once again, no rush.
Electric cars have virtues, but still have the battery issue. I also don't drive very far (I put on 5k in the past year) so I don't consume that much gas either. Last but not least, I really don't care either. And no goading by sanctimonious environmentalists shrieking in my face is going to do anything to convince me of their righteous cause. |
Why are you concerned about battery issues if you drive 5k a year? Are you afraid you won’t have enough range? |
| Just brought a car in March that takes only premium. Had not had a new/closed to new car for 15 years! I work hard. I am momentarily annoyed by the gas prices and I just just pay for it and say it's the cost of luxury I am enjoying. May trade it in 3 years or so for hybrid. May not. In the meantime, I enjoy my ride. |
The etron is a beautiful looking car but the consumer report ratings are horrible and it won't fit in my garage. Too big for me. |
So, you bought a $70k+ car for your kid. I hope you bought the extended warranty. That thing is brand new and gets really mixed reviews. Bad choice for a wrangler. You never want the first year of any vehicle. Love our Wrangler, but the first year hybrid, nope. I think its funny everyone is pushing electric. How much you drive is equally important! We don't put many miles on our cars so I have no guilt driving a Wrangler vs. a hybrid. If someone in a hybrid/electric drives 30-40K a year and we drive under 5K, who is being more responsible in terms of the environment? |
Are you saying you are driving 5k a year because you are environmentally conscious? I’d think it more of a situation where you don’t need to drive, like working from home, retired, stay at home, live really close to the workplace etc. |
| Because electric and hybrid cars are way more expensive than the gas models, and car prices are already out of control. I want to buy a hybrid car, but they’re not exactly affordable especially when you have young kids and need an SUV type car. |
