Video shows the beach is some distance from the resort. She was alone and unprotected and visibly impaired.

I don't see anywhere on there that kidnapping wealthy American tourists for sex trafficking is a thing. The whole point of sex trafficking is taking people who no one is going to make a fuss over, or who maybe no one will even notice is missing. An American college student is not that.

This isn't an American tourist in fact the title should be missing college student from India

She came here with her parents as an infant but lived all of her life here, went from preschool to high-school school here, was attending college here and was a permanent resident.

Not a citizen and the parents made no effort doing so for themselves or her.

So they're using Indian authorities? And that Loundoun county dude.

Indian, Dominican, American and Interpol as well.

The investigators wonder if they were served spiked drinks.

Maybe Sudiksha just got faster, more frequent service.

review of RIIU from six days ago:

ABSOLUTE NIGHTMARE OF A RESORT
I don’t even know where to begin with how disgusting, unsanitary, and downright fraudulent Riu Republica is. DO NOT STAY HERE.
From the moment I arrived, this place was a health hazard.
I left covered in bed bug bites and had to decontaminate all my belongings when I got home. Absolutely vile. MOLD & MILDEW INFESTED ROOMS. The stench of rot and filth was unbearable. My clothes, luggage, and everything I brought now reek of mildew and had to be thrown away. FOOD POISONING FROM ROTTEN FOODThe food was unsanitary, left out for hours, swarming with flies, and straight-up inedible.I got violently sick and spent most of my trip in misery. ALL-INCLUSIVE IS A SCAM. Bartenders refused to put alcohol in drinks and blatantly lied about it. I asked for a shot of tequila and they gave me lime juice, and when i asked for a real shot he laughed in my face. You're paying for a service you will not receive.**
-NO RUNNING WATER, NO AC, NO POWER! Frequent outages left guests stranded in sweltering heat with no relief. This resort is inhumane. The maids hoarded bottled water while guests had to beg for basic necessities. As well has towels and they lied about changing and cleaning the sheets. I was sexually harassed and made to feel unsafe by staff. The entire resort was a biohazard—dirty linens, trash piling up, grimy bathrooms. It was like a disease-ridden war zone. This place should be shut down immediately. They lie, scam, and completely neglect their guests. The advertising is fraudulent, and the conditions are so unsanitary it’s dangerous. If you’re even considering booking here, DON’T. Save yourself the stress, disgust, and literal sickness. I wish I had known before wasting my time and money.
Riu Republica, you should be ashamed.ZERO STARS

May be they were afraid of swapping Indian citizenship of American, only to be deported if a president felt like it any given morning.

Read the posts explaining process for Indians. This thread isn't about that.

Top review is interesting because it says the person was sexually harassed and made to feel unsafe by staff. This was posted before story of missing girl blew up. Also interesting, many of the reviews say the drinks were very weak and bartenders didn't use enough alcohol.

I understand. But it’s not known to 99% of people except Indians who go through. I work with lot of other country people who used to ask why I did not get my green card . There are various you tube video and memes making fun of Indians getting their green card in death bed or they apply when they are young and prime and get it when they are old and inactive . It was not the case before 2000. I wish they restrict the H1B to 7% cap too so people won’t come in hope and wait . Another thing is sometimes your employer should be willing to apply for the 1st step in green card process immediately. Some might post pone it for years which might push you further back in line.

Any further green card process discussion should be taken to a seaprate thread. You can create one if there isn't already a thread to join.

The green card sidebar is very interesting. And relevant to the thread to counter all the anti-Indian chatter.

It may have been informative. Details can continue elsewhere.

Who are YOU? We find it interesting and informative background info to Sudiksha and her family.

Maybe they had food poisoning, not alcohol poisoning.

RIIU review from six days ago:

"No power for 26 hours, no running water on 3 separate mornings for up to 8 hours at a time, food is foul/inedible, staff has no consideration for their customers safety, filthy resort, never felt safe, got eaten alive by bugs, no AC and cold water."

Last review I'll post, trip advisor, 1 week ago...

This is not a 5 star resort at all. We’re unfortunate that we’ve been during ‘spring break’ and it was like a children’s playground! Encouraged to drink by the waiters providing them bottles of ‘champagne’, wine, preferential treatment at the bar. Which they throw all over, throw the empty cups and bottles all over. Not exactly what we had in mind when we booked.
The rooms do indeed have mould, we’ve not used the air con at all as you can see the mould on the filter. Rather not throw that into my body. The maids have been in everyday and have done a fab job can’t fault them or any of the cleaning staff around the resort. They really are fighting a losing battle though with the amount of disrespectful children. Water in room topped up and Towels changed daily.
Saw two male staff stop and pee in the hedges from my balcony. Disgusting!
Went into the pool bar once and felt disgusting coming out due to the amount of alcohol being thrown around in there. Spent the rest of the time at the beach to avoid the volume of spring breakers that completely took over with no regards given to anyone else there. Go to the far left there’s little bar and loos that are much quieter than the larger ones entering the beach.
Woke two mornings to no running water, was sorted by returning in the afternoon however did have cold showers on both evenings, 1 full day of no electricity, trying to get lunch and dinner was horrendous. An hour queuing at the chicken stand for a burger. Gave in the end and bought crisps instead. Dinner was not organised at all, staff did a fab job to keep food replenished for the whole hotel in a small space but the wait staff didn’t help by again encouraging young people to drink supplying bottles and ‘egging’ them on. They were disrespectful to all other guests in there trying to eat. Should not have to listen to a bunch of kids chanting, they should’ve been moved out so more people could sit at a table rather than a sun lounger to eat their meal.
The young people have zero respect, banging doors and shouting in corridors at 3-4am. Grow up! This is the hotels fault for allowing group bookings. You’re attracting the wrong clientele. It’s trashy and not attractive to people that like a good time but minus the ‘children’. Got up one morning to find broken glass in the corridor, bins and ashtrays kicked all over. Sealy bags around the resort.
Messaged Riu on the app ahead of our stay to request something for my husband for his 50th
birthday… not acknowledged. Can’t book for any of the restaurants it’s first come first served WTF? Not quite sure how that is fair to everyone? Went for steak one night at 7:30… closed despite the boards saying 6-9. Must have a quota. The buffets were ok a lot of the same but all edible, not much choice when you can’t get into a restaurant.
Two days running we woke to one of the main drains overflowing outside our balcony, It stank rancid, never saw 1 person come to look at it, obviously a recurring problem as it’s got its own indents in the grass where it flows on to the path.
We went knowing it had a mixture of party and relaxation so we could enjoy both but we didn’t partake in the party due to the number of young people that were disgraceful and disrespectful.
I paid £3500 for 10 nights, I’ve paid far less and had much better facilities, cleanliness and respect at lower starred resorts than this! I went with an open mind after reading the reviews, wish I’d have changed when I had the chance! We made the most of what we had, but our evenings were spent avoiding and moaning about the young people. Riu should look at this hotel that is bringing their name down! TUI. You should also take a look at this, charging what you do for trash… shame on you!
Oh and $70 per person compensation for the lack of electricity, running water, hot water and cold drinks in 30+ heat… shove it. We will return to the Dominican but not this hotel. EVER

She is a permanent legal resident who haas lived in NoVa since she was a toddler. US Feds and VA LE are heavily involved in the search.

Not sure is ignorance or racism prompted your post.

Can have a difference of opinion without being racist.

Claiming she should be referred to as an Indian student when she is 20 and has not lived there since infancy can only have so many motives. Check yours.

She's not American though, either by birth or Citizenship.

When do you consider her American? She lived in the us since she was very young. I bet she considered herself
An American.

To be fair, unless you were born here, born to an American citizen abroad or got naturalized to become a citizen, technically you aren't an American. That's a legal requirement not discrimination.
