Did you hear that Russia had paused its invasion when the Ukrainians asked for diplomatic talks? That’s the explanation the Russians are offering for their lack of military progress. Of course, the reality is they’re meeting more resistance than they expected. Well, at least they’ve admitted their lack of progress. Score one for Ukraine!

Russians didn’t plan for this lasting more than 3 days. There’s no fuel, food, or ammo. They assumed they’d just pillage all of that from Ukraine when they rolled over the country and government.

Russians are in big trouble, especially if western nations intercede to controlling Ukraine airspace

Heck, there were no new wars under Trump. There was a pretty strong peace process in the Middle East. I'm not sure why Trump is even
mentioned in this thread.

Posts like the first one above are just insane. And, an effort to distract from Biden's truly horrendous foreign policy decisions.
To make this crisis about Trump, or Trump supporters is a cry of desperation and deflection.
It is clear that Putin saw a combination of things... the Afghanistan debacle, the fact that Biden filled his administration with former Obama people who did nothing when he annexed Crimea, and a series of failures domestically and knew that this was the time to go.
It is no coincidence that Biden started building up his troops along the border a month after the Afghanistan withdrawal.

What Putin DIDN'T see was the pure will of the Ukrainian people to fight for their homeland.
Their determination and grit is admirable. And, it is this desire to win that has caused other leaders to change their positions and start taking a hard line against Russia.
