ECNL moving to school year not calendar

Yes, winter. The club will match the age group OR appropriate ability level. Likely more kids than usual but otherwise much like most years. Bigger clubs hold ID sessions. Don't miss out on those -- stand out there and you may get more practice invites.

Current age group. If you are on grade (Aug-September) u stay with current team. If you are Oct - Dec and a grade younger than your teammates - u go down to the younger age group.

You do know that there are just as many Aug-Dec GA/MLS hats who are just as "excited for their kid to play down against younger players"

No, nobody is excited to play down. Thats loser talk.

It's not playing down, loser.

It sorta is if the kid has played years in the current system and likely has 1+ year more experience, more play on larger fields.
Nope, it's playing on age..the assigned age group. Try to get the easy stuff right before moving on to the tougher stuff.

The plus+ 30 is dead on arrival man.
Maybe if we lived in a society that was not scared of math, it would have a chance.
The 8/1 cut off has people confused as is already. I can almost guarantee there will be plus NOTHING ever happening.
Not arguing the merit, just keeping it 💯

I’m confused as to how rec age groups this fall have anything to do with mlsnext starting a BY league at the younger ages. I don’t think they are either, but I don’t understand your point.

🤣 we must not live in the same area.

I think the main issue will be travel/logistics. I could see it working with first teams that play a shortened more local pre-mlsnext league and also play up in a regular SY local league. This would be more difficult for second and third teams. If it nets mlsnext more money maybe this is something they will try. Doesn’t seem worth the trouble to me but maybe the financials will tell a different story.

Think critically for a second....an affiliate to an MLS academy is starting a rec league based on the 8/1 registration, where could they possibly be going with this?

Y’all are too funny, entire p2p going august 1st next year. Can’t believe this many pages of so many people debating and contriving scenarios. Or maybe it’s the same two people going back and forth
