My daughter plays GA and we leave in an area with two huge markets/cities within 1-2 hours. We are not in a rural area. The travel for GA will be better than previous years but still quite a few overnight weekends and long drives. No way this works at the ulittle level. |
It would work for the soccer crazies. But yes they'd have to find other local clubs. |
Theres already "Pre-ECNL" leagues and other competitive options. |
I believe there a GA Q1/2 parent here keep putting out these fantasy scenarios, eg USSF taking college soccer pro, GA/MLSN starting their own BY u-little ecosystem, etc. It's ok, none of these will matter as Elon Musk is promising to take us all to Mars soon. Not sure how youth soccer will work over there. |
I think what we've got is an ECNL hat that's so excited for their kid to play down against younger players that they can barely contain themselves. They're trying with all their might to will it into happening in other leagues so they dont seem like such is wuss. |
Is it what is the current Q1/Q2 doing for the past 10 years, to play down against not only younger age players, but also lower grade. |
Pre ecnl starts in our area at u12. The travel is much more reasonable than GA but also much more than the ulittle leagues. |
Appreciate the regional info. Don't care |
All I’m saying is that starting GA/mlsnext at u8 is going to be challenging and we are in a major soccer market(s). I have a Q2 so hopefully they can figure something out. |
You do know that there are just as many Aug-Dec GA/MLS hats who are just as "excited for their kid to play down against younger players" |
Absolutely. Especially if they get to play with kids in their actual grade. |
No, nobody is excited to play down. Thats loser talk. |
It's not playing down, loser. |
Let's talk try-out strategy for next year. With a potentially big shuffle, are people going to start attending other club's practices in Winter? If so, and your kid had an Aug-Dec birthday, will the club have them go to the practice with the current age group team, or the group below? |
It sorta is if the kid has played years in the current system and likely has 1+ year more experience, more play on larger fields. |
