It's easier for me to understand why people are mad at Hilaria. She literally lies about her ethnicity and pretends she doesn't know common English words even though she grew up in Boston. She did something concrete and weird. She also had a million kids with a man who pretty openly appears not to have wanted them. Their family is overtly weird. It's very provocative.

With Meghan it's like "she seems whiny and she's never done anything very impressive." It's just nowhere near the level of Hilaria Baldwin.

Of course plenty of people see Markle in the same way. Hilaria could’ve faked her accent for forever, but she wanted to be a star in the mommy pregnancy recovery space and have endorsements. She was a yogi or something before marriage. It’s the same thing with Markle- had a public profile before, nothing like what marriage brought her, people saw her fakeness over time.

What's odd is that you think this somehow sets her apart, when it's actually the thing she has in common with everyone else on tv, and a good number of people not on tv.

What some of us are noting is that the intensity of feeling around Meghan doesn't seem to match her actual behavior. She's annoying, yeah, but in such a benign, mild way that it seems odd to feel invested. I watched there show and I wasn't like "this is amazing, I must have more." Some of her interactions are a little cringey but that actually gave it some interest (oh let's see how awkward Meghan will be with this famous chef now). There are so many much more cringey people out there, many of whom have done actually immoral or horrible things.

Like it's weird to me to invest a lot of energy in hating Meghan when Karoline Leavitt is on TV every day, lying about stuff the president does and doing it in such a petulant, annoying way. Why isn't there a 100+ page thread on Leavitt? People are really out here saying "omg Meghan almost picked up the crostini made by Mindy Kaling but then instead picked up one of the one's she made!!!" and meanwhile actual villains are shredding democracy but whatever.

She reminds me of all those women, who play act that they are better than other women like they don’t have negative emotions. This is an horrible thing for a woman to have in our misogynistic world. People are very afraid of angry and empowered women.

These girls (Meghan included) understand negative emotions, but pretend they don’t have them. But underneath that is a person who has TONS of emotion and can be very self centered and manipulative in relationships. That is socially acceptable, but outright anger is a no-no.

They don’t show empathy to “lesser women” who may over react from time to time. The women who have negative emotions are often labeled “weird’ by these types, just for strong negative emotions.

This is also an insane amount of projection.

Nah- I have no problem with being angry. Letting out anger in ways that don’t hurt anyone (like posting about a celebrity online) is much healthier than keeping it in and attacking people.

Do you not like to see other women angry? Does it make you uncomfortable? I would say attacking other women online saying they are “weird’ and “insane” for expressing dislike and exploring those feelings in a fairly innocuous way (posting online on a forum she will never read) means you are a little defensive about this topic.

Because she is doing all of it to make money, not for any belief she has. I believe Karoline Leavitt is one of those slightly brainwashed religious girls who at least believes in her lies and wants to live in a Christian way. However misguided I think her to be, Karoline believes the lies.
