That's right, I don't deny DG's yelling. So what? "PASS THE BALL", "MOVE THE BALL", "TOO MUCH DRIBBLING", "WE HAVE TO KEEP THE BALL" among many other of his favorite sayings. I mentioned sarcasm earlier. Yes, he uses sarcasm in with his dry humor. It's comical. SO WHAT??? There is no abuse and stop making up lies. Nobody is making any of girls stay. The parents also know where the door is if they want to leave. They wouldn't be the first and they wouldn't be the last.

The girls that stay want to work hard and succeed at the sport. Not sure if anybody told you but ECNL is not for the light of heart. It's not EDP ya know. These girls compete against the best girls that the Northeast has to offer. At later ages they will compete against the very best girls in the entire country. The best ones will likely move on to Top 25 NCAA College teams where coaches will yell and belittle, so on so forth and much worse than DG will ever do.

This is true for their older teams but not for the 08’s. BSC 08’s record is spotty at best and McLean 08’s record is what it is. Both are actively looking for new players. Sorry current parents but it is true. McLean usually makes a lot of offers for the first team but come the fall many find they are not playing on the first team. BSC was not getting a lot of players trying out for the 08’s even before the pandemic. Maybe it will change but there are a lot of other options.

Do you ever stop with your disinfo?

Bethesda 08s are much ahead of current McLean team as evident by last Friday's scrimmage. Anyone who did actually see that should just admit it just like I will admit McLean gets better over time. Before the Pandemic hit, Bethesda last game was a 3-0 win over Pipeline. Currently, Pipeline is the top 2008 girls team in our region. BSC 08s did not have a problem with the amount of players. STOP LYING!

As the Pandemic hit, Bethesda had been looking for players for a couple reasons. Most importantly, they lost three starters. Two of which moved to New Jersey and now play for the top club in the USA, Players Development Academy (who also has a very "screamy" coach). The other went to McLean. Now, we all know that due to CoVid, there were no tryouts. Players had to come by word of mouth. Hard to find players if you can't have tryouts!!! Next, one of the top players was injured early in the ECNL season. That really put the team in a pickle.

All of this on top of the fact that DG does not like to have large rosters as he does not give equal playing time. He will tell parents/players that from the very beginning. Also, when we were given our offer, we were told which team we would be on. MORE LIES FROM THE ABOVE POSER WHO ALSO ACCUSES ABUSE.

They are 0-4 on the season, let me know when they start succeeding.

Coming over from the 2005 girls chat. If you have a DD who is serious about soccer, and she’s good, get her out of CCL now and into ECNL or the GA.

So you want to go back to the BSC tournament 2019 and say that is a good indicator of the team? LOL you know what their record was in league play and so do I. I also know the team was lucky to get out of their bracket in a watered down BSC cup. That was the first tournament win in how many tournaments? Other parents and players are not as happy as you are. Players are leaving. Yes but they have been leaving that team and age group from a while.

BSC 08’s had a serious problem attracting players before the pandemic. You know it and I know it. The number of players coming out before the pandemic was low compared to other years at the same age group- ie u12 ECNL. This is shown in lack of depth, the second team and players leaving. You say McLean is not up to BSC levels but former starter(or is it starters) at BSC is(are) now at McLean? ECNL u13 girls losing 3 starters and not being able to bring in like talent is worrying. I am not going to engage with you any more because I think I know who you are and with a little knowledge it is easy to id the girls you are talking about. Good luck

Is GA worth it? I’d love some honest feedback on the league in this age group.

I know that DA was a top league and it makes sense that there is good GA competition in older age groups. I’ve looked at the scores and schedules in GA U13 though, and it’s very uneven. Did Covid mess something up and it’s going to get better next year or is GA just not as much of a draw as DA was?

We have been really happy in ECNL Regional League so far. Good competition and the travel was manageable compared to friends at NCSL and CCL clubs. Next step for us is GA, but we could also stay in ECNL RL or try our for an ECNL club. My DD is U12, so it doesn’t matter to me how GA looks at U17. Just the younger age groups.

If you are in Virginia, FCV it as good as it gets. Even more than the ECNL teams. Do it while the FCV team is still weak.

I did not comment at all about DG as I’ve never seen/heard him coach at a game or practice. But I do want to say that a person doesn’t need to know a coach to know if the coach is a jerk or abusive. My DD played against a team in Southern MD where the female coach yelled, berated and was orally abusive to her players. Two girls cried. I look over the the opposing team’s parents and all of them acted normally. I do not know that coach. My DD told me on the ride home that the players on her team said that they were so glad that their coach was like that coach.

It's a shame that people would deter others from considering a team without really knowing anything about the team and knowing even far less about the coach. Go to a BSC 08 practice, attend a game, talk to DG, talk to the players/parents and find out for yourself! DG has had tremendous success coaching girls as well as boys soccer for decades. Need I mention he won the National Coach of the Year award for large public schools in 2019? Those are just the facts, not anyone's opinion. I would highly suggest focusing on facts and checking things out on your own in order to make an informed decision.

We like our GA team and coaches. If the team is blowing out most of the teams, like some of the VA teams are then you should look at switching. You should want to play teams that are at your level or better. Now is the time to start looking at other clubs. Make sure you like the coach because you will be stuck with them for a year.

Is it that hard for a club to be in ECNL? I just wish MoCo has more ECNL clubs than just BSC. I am not saying there’s anything wrong with BSC at all so don’t jump on me. LOL
