I am guessing other top clubs are likely too far of a commute.

DG will also only be the coach next year and then another will take over. One player just joined over the winter break, another one is about to join, and the other midfielder got healthy again.

Don't write Bethesda off until you see for yourself. I'll agree, if you don't want a vocal coach or your DD does not react to any type of criticism, than elite level soccer is not the path for you. Just keep it fun. However, if your daughter as higher aspirations, your DD will eventually play for a coach that yells or can be harsh. It's the nature of sports, especially if you want to get to the top.

Is the Center Mid that’s coming back extremely talented? My DD wants to play CM (attacking forward) so it would be tough if the existing CM is extremely talented. My DD is very technical and can dribble/shoot with either foot (ambidextrous) but I don’t know if she’s talented enough.

TBH, yes. She played up a year before this season. The other CM is also talented. Really, the whole team is very talented but they have a short bench.

His own defenders didn't even deny DG's yelling at players. All they did was excuse it. It is fine if that is a culture you think best fits your kid but don't invite people if they have expressed reservations about having their child coached in that way. Be objective about your coach and recognize when something would be a bad fit for someone else's kid. Your team has a short bench for a reason and that reason is your coach is abrasive at best.

This is true for their older teams but not for the 08’s. BSC 08’s record is spotty at best and McLean 08’s record is what it is. Both are actively looking for new players. Sorry current parents but it is true. McLean usually makes a lot of offers for the first team but come the fall many find they are not playing on the first team. BSC was not getting a lot of players trying out for the 08’s even before the pandemic. Maybe it will change but there are a lot of other options.

That's right, I don't deny DG's yelling. So what? "PASS THE BALL", "MOVE THE BALL", "TOO MUCH DRIBBLING", "WE HAVE TO KEEP THE BALL" among many other of his favorite sayings. I mentioned sarcasm earlier. Yes, he uses sarcasm in with his dry humor. It's comical. SO WHAT??? There is no abuse and stop making up lies. Nobody is making any of girls stay. The parents also know where the door is if they want to leave. They wouldn't be the first and they wouldn't be the last.

The girls that stay want to work hard and succeed at the sport. Not sure if anybody told you but ECNL is not for the light of heart. It's not EDP ya know. These girls compete against the best girls that the Northeast has to offer. At later ages they will compete against the very best girls in the entire country. The best ones will likely move on to Top 25 NCAA College teams where coaches will yell and belittle, so on so forth and much worse than DG will ever do.

Bethesda 08s are much ahead of current McLean team as evident by last Friday's scrimmage. Anyone who did actually see that should just admit it just like I will admit McLean gets better over time. Before the Pandemic hit, Bethesda last game was a 3-0 win over Pipeline. Currently, Pipeline is the top 2008 girls team in our region. BSC 08s did not have a problem with the amount of players. STOP LYING!

As the Pandemic hit, Bethesda had been looking for players for a couple reasons. Most importantly, they lost three starters. Two of which moved to New Jersey and now play for the top club in the USA, Players Development Academy (who also has a very "screamy" coach). The other went to McLean. Now, we all know that due to CoVid, there were no tryouts. Players had to come by word of mouth. Hard to find players if you can't have tryouts!!! Next, one of the top players was injured early in the ECNL season. That really put the team in a pickle.

All of this on top of the fact that DG does not like to have large rosters as he does not give equal playing time. He will tell parents/players that from the very beginning. Also, when we were given our offer, we were told which team we would be on. MORE LIES FROM THE ABOVE POSER WHO ALSO ACCUSES ABUSE.

Now, we all know that due to CoVid, there were no tryouts. Players had to come by word of mouth. Hard to find players if you can't have tryouts!!! Next, one of the top players was injured early in the ECNL season. That really put the team in a pickle.

All of this on top of the fact that DG does not like to have large rosters as he does not give equal playing time. He will tell parents/players that from the very beginning. Also, when we were given our offer, we were told which team we would be on. MORE LIES FROM THE ABOVE POSER WHO ALSO ACCUSES ABUSE.
