After reading this incredibly disturbing article about the type of content that Josh watched, apparently, for entertainment, I would really like to see a harsher punishment for Josh than life in prison. But they’re not stopping anything. They’re trying to catch the criminals committing these crimes, but they’re not preventing anything. If you’re serious about stopping these kinds of crimes, support women’s rights (you think that these kinds of crimes aren’t part of the continuum that generally disrespects women and women’s bodies? Yes, I am aware there are male victims, too; I don’t think they’re the majority of victims) and listen to that TikTok via reddit that was linked above. She talks about how purity culture helps drive this kind of gross crime.

I think these task forces are a complete waste of time. It's time to get SERIOUS.

I often wonder this about pedophiles in general. Is it related to his religion's views on purity/sex? Brain abnormality? History of trauma/sexual abuse? Can it have a genetic component?

It is impossible to understand how something so sick like CP is "enjoyable" to anyone.

In his specific case, I strongly suspect his own abuse, coupled with being raised in an abusive cult and his parents' failure to get him legitimate help, when he was (possibly) abused himself and/or when he abused his sisters, instead issues were swept under the rug.

My other theory is that he's shown sociopathic and abusive behavior for years long before abusing his sisters even, perhaps being mean to animals, or just destroying property etc, but instead of being dealt with he was treated like a little crown prince never facing any consequence his devious behavior only grew, and he thought he could get away with more and more.


I don't subscribe to it was because of the purity/virginity culture he was raised in plenty of people raise in that who aren't pedophiles, and plenty who are not raised in that environment who are.

How would you know? Josh was already a degenerate so I expect it of him, but I'm seeing more and more cases of accomplished men who seemed 'perfect' being caught in pedophilia lies.

I have a theory that if the case with Josh hadn't been pending, she wouldn't have been charged. Probably the last thing the AR police wanted was to give Jana a pass and then have the media find out. It would bring more scrutiny on the police since some in the public view them as having dropped the ball re: Josh.

Where I live, there's at least 2-3 wandering kids found a year, if not more. I have never read about any of the parents being charged. Even after a mom fell asleep with her kid at naptime and the kid wandered out and died, she didn't get charged.

I have a guy friend in his 40s who was molested by his 7 yo female cousin when he was 5, and he has admitted to me that he gets turned on by child sex content. (Not the 2yo stuff, but like 8-10 range. He remembers it being a pleasurable experience for him, so he assumed it was for the girls in the videos too, until he had children of his own.) But he also has enough empathy and self-control to never act on it -- and the sense not to look at it online for the past 15 years for fear of getting caught. So I would guess in Josh's case it's a combination of being abused himself, hubris, and lack of empathy.
