Hayfield Football Coach Fired

Anonymous
The injunction complains that VHSL's ban prevents 14 senior players from playing and "showcasing their abilities".

However the Hayfield Varsity roster lists 21 Senior players.

Why are the plaintiffs only concerned about 14 of those 21 seniors?

Maybe this parent didn’t want a long commute. How far do you commute to work each day?

That's a short commute.
No one pulls their kids out of high school in April. You would have them finish out the school year, and then move. Unless, of course, all you cared about was following a certain football coach.

How can you say it's a short commute? You don't even know exactly where this hypothetical new job is. Why didn't you tell me how long your daily commute is?
Maybe it wasn't even about a job. Maybe they were renters and their lease was up and they needed to move in April. Maybe they had to move in to care for a sick family member. It could be many things that really are none of our business. I'm just saying that in Prince William county, it is very common for students to transfer to a high school they are not zoned for because they want to participate in a specialty program, and that leads to kids from one family being in different high schools very frequently. It's really no big deal.

You are being ridiculous and obtuse. We all know why this dad yanked his two kids out of two different high schools--in April-- and moved them to Hayfield.

Did they run track? Last Spring, a Hayfield kid won VHSL 200 meter dash championship and school was runner up in Boys 4 x 400 Meter Relay. In the current court filings, Hayfield apologizes for VHSL eligibility violation for track.

Many seniors committed to schools already. The nephew, for ex, going to Va Tech I think.

Looks like someone is currently adding that to the system. Appears to be a bunch of players (initials for the minors) and parents. NOT FCPS, as initially reported.

It is FCPS go-to law firm. Who do you think is paying for it?

I'm sure a local news organization will find out if FCPS is behind this. Probably the only reason we haven't seen news articles yet is that no one knows anything for certain except the plaintiffs.

Yeah, would like the papers to say how many families are part of suit and if just the kids from Freedom that filed.

lol, I see what you did there and it’s rather ugly, but to be expected.

Don’t follow. Asking if just the Freedom families is a relevant as it goes to what the complaint could argue. It’s only the Freedom families that could claim defamation, not any of the already at Hayfield players. And now with that Fairfax Times posted actual filings, don’t need to speculate any more as clear what’s being argued and presented.

No, what you did was try and isolate the Freedom kids as if the actual Hayfield kids aren’t affected as much. Real condescending, but after reading a lot of these pages it’s evident, clearly evident

She may skip the superintendent’s holiday party for sure!

So if all these parents didn't transfer their kids for athletic reasons, then what is the big deal that you don't get to play in the playoffs. They aren't being punished academically. They still get to get their education.

If it wasn't for athletic reasons, why do you care so much about it? Why file an injunction to say how unfair this is? That this puts undue stress on your kids? That they won't be recruited to play football in college?

Make it make sense? LOL

FCPS argued that there is a right for seniors to play to showcase their abilities and that injunctive relief is a proper remedy? Take note parents, when Jimmy gets benched, FCPS has given you precedent to sue.

There is a dad claiming he didn't transfer his kids for athletic reasons. He had a son who played at freedom HS for Overton and another son who played at a different public PWC HS.
Last April, he tranferred both sons from their respective, different high schools and enrolled them both at Hayfield. What an odd thing to do!

Who sends their sons to two different public high schools, then pulls them both out of their respective high schools in APRIL and transfers them to a completely different school system? Totally not making decisions based on academics thats for sure.

Are YOU, the dad? YOU can’t speak for another man and whatever his situation is. It also spoke of a kid that had dual residency with both parents in respective counties but they make wanna make an issue about that too. Whatever happens I hope they are n have unbiased ears.

The players that were already at Hayfield may want to play post-season, but they have no grounds to bring defamation claim so just a fact and not condescending that former Freedom players have more claims they can bring for damages.

Kind of makes you wonder if there weren't stunts being pulled at Freedom also.

I find it funny that Hayfield's principal was arguing that VHSL is not being "culturally responsive" when they mention group housing, while at the same time that same letter acknowledges that families were literally purchasing second apartments in the Hayfield district while maintaining a residency in PWC (and that's why a kid actually living there on any date could not be verified).

Read to comprehend not just respond, as that’s not what it says but you wish to try n spew out false facts. Some of yall are unbelievable. Half of yall the reason the dad suing for damages for hopefully undue stress

HAHA the filing shows a facebook conversation between that creepy religious nutjob who claims she is the "team chaplain" and some rando. Not sure what the point of including that was, but I laughed. She certainly is everywhere for someone without kids playing.

yes, it was a track violation.

I've never seen a court filing include screenshots from Fairfax Underground before. That whole website is trolls. No one takes anything on there seriously.

Are the individual student meetings about eligibility with the VHSL under oath? Is that why all the parents blew them off and didn't show up, they didn't want to have to answer any questions?

If football is so important to you, why would SO many parents simply not show up for the meeting.
