Happens all the time now.

Saw it at a key point in a WCAC game.

Final - OT

Will wait for for the post saying it was their coaching staff that caused them to lose.....

No need to wait; someone took care of that 5 pages ago.

Is the VISAA schedule out yet?

Everyone upset over an easy game to play. Free position? Come on. Lacrosse has free throws?

In my experience, a ref would give a warning, and maybe multiple warnings, before calling a technical foul for a mouthguard violation. It seems unlikely to me a ref would call such a foul late in a tight playoff game without having given a warning earlier in the game.

You really can't hope for more than two 1-goal games in the ISL AA semifinals. Great to see four teams playing at such a high level. Hopefully the final is just as exciting.

Exactly. Unless it’s blatant then they may not even warn. At this level, the girls know better.

Everybody at the Potomac game yesterday knew each other, players, parents and kids, so the hate against SR isn't coming from our parents. I didn't hear the SR parents saying anything crazy and their students definitely out did ours. Crazy good game, weird coaching moves from both sides, and terrible refs who needed a 5-minute huddle to make every call. That game could have gone either way.

I'm glad our girls have at least one more game next week.

Everyone understands a bad call now and then--it's a tough job-- but when the bad calls from one ref go one way and start piling up, i.e, overturned shooting space FP, illegal check from across the field, mouthpiece, uncalled head checks, it does make one start to wonder...

Tremendous back and forth game yesterday between SR and Potomac. A shame that either team had to lose, but so great to see so many great athletes playing at a high level. SR was just better when it counted at the final count. SR now returns to the ISL Final against a very good Saints team. Should be a great lacrosse game.

+2 - SR doesn't have the offensive weapons

LOL.... This didn't age well. 14 SR goals yesterday from multiple weapons.

It was literally dangling out of her mouth

Yeah, I know. I have never seen it called and timing was unfortunate.

I have seen it called twice this year. Once in a close game.

The mouthpeice was on the GROUND when Visi was up by 1 with 10 minutes left, and at 9-9 SSSAS had a yellow at 5 minutes remaining then Visi failed to score the rest of the game. I think some folks like to make the refs an excuse, it does make you start to wonder.....

It was definitely told to coaches pre season that this would be a point of emphasis this year and they have been warning the girls all season they actually started wearing them during winter ball at the STJ…

Visi’s problem was lack of production when it mattered, and not bad officiating. But, as a ref I would not make that call in that situation without a prior warning.
