The White House knows that an overwhelming majority of the people coming aren’t fleeing persecution but are economic migrants gaming our asylum laws. They know that there will be no serious effort to deport people whose claims are denied, just as there will be no serious effort to deport the estimated 12 million illegal immigrants already living here. The administration isn’t calling this an amnesty, but it walks like one and talks like one.

Mr. Biden wants to fix the southern border by effectively erasing it for the purposes of migration and making it impossible for someone to enter unlawfully. That prospect thrills progressive Democrats but could cost the party politically insofar as it plays into a broader GOP accusation that Democrats are soft on lawbreakers. MAGA Republicans aren’t the only voters who care about law and order. It was losing congressional races last year in deep-blue states such as California and New York that cost Democrats control of the House.

DHS personnel in Arizona are now using the term "freedom runs" when instructing BP agents about mass releases of illegal aliens in Tucson.

There is almost no manpower left for enforcement duties as agents' calls for assistance go unanswered and the vast majority are tied up with huge numbers of surrendering border crashers. Agents have been instructed to prioritize the processing of surrendering illegal aliens instead of patrolling the border.

And while all this sanctioned lawlessness ties up resources, the murderous cartel thugs continue to run hugely successful border operations while making billions of dollars smuggling millions of illegal aliens, tons of fentanyl and whatever else they want to send here, courtesy of Joe Biden.

Border Patrol leadership last month set daily "bookout" targets for its sectors in order to keep escalating numbers of migrants in custody at a "manageable" level -- including potentially increasing releases into the U.S. interior -- as agents continue to see a rise in numbers at the southern border.

An internal Aug. 8 email from an acting deputy chief to Border Patrol field chiefs and deputies says that sectors are facing an influx that is outpacing the numbers of migrants being either released or transferred to Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) for removal.

The email, obtained by Florida Attorney General Ashley Moody’s office, says daily encounters "[continue] to surpass the daily permanent bookouts and the in-custody numbers continue to rise creating significant risks to agents and detainees."

Consequently, the agency proposes "daily bookout targets" per sector "to bring in-custody numbers to manageable levels" based on 7-day averages. It then says that, if "consequence pathways" such as expedited removal are not available, then releasing migrants with Notices to Appear (NTA/OR) at a future court date should be used.

"We respectfully request that you urgently use these bookout targets to formalize your daily processing pathway plans, to include transitioning to NTA/OR when consequence pathways are not sufficient."

The memo says that those released should be enrolled in Alternatives to Detention "where operationally feasible."

We can't be the only country dealing with this right? I mean all of Europe is connected. Are you telling me there aren't huge migrant populations and illegal immigrants trying to get into more liberal European countries? Can we not learn from someone else's model?.... And until Mexico does something. We can't really do much short of building an impenetrable wall. 20 feet high and 20 ft into the ground. I don't like that anymore than anyone else does, but I really don't know how we're supposed to control crap like this when our border is hundreds of miles long

Immigration has been an issue for decades and unfortunately Republicans and Democrats can't seem to figure out how to get it under control...... Oddly enough, under Obama we saw the least amount of immigration but I don't think it was due to his policies.
