Some Langley/Great Falls kids could be moved to south lakes as well. Some Great Falls kids used to go there in the 80’s too.

They tried that during the 2008 redistricting. Janie wouldn't let them.

Well as as been said in the past, Jane Strauss isn't around to "protect" Langley anymore.

Tholen has taken up the mantle.

Like I said, best to treat Langley like it doesn’t exist. Untouchable.

So... all this speculating for something that may or may not happen in the next decade(s)? Ok...

I thought this post was mostly about the community meetings next week to discuss the work of the boundary policy consultant.

Langley may as well be a pyramid of private schools. They don’t have to deal with a lot of the bs the goes on with the rest of the county schools.

It was. People saying there will be no worries about boundary changes until the new Western HS is built are wrong - the school board wants to change the policy now and change the boundaries next year.

Really? I think they want additional cover for future boundary decisions in the form of an updated boundary policy, and they may well need to adjust some boundaries before a new high school gets built years from now, but the main boundary decisions they identified in prior CIPs have either been addressed (Langley/McLean HS and Glen Forest ES) or deferred (Shrevewood ES).

So what specific boundary changes would this current School Board even begin to have the political courage to discuss?

Well shame on us for not living on the Potomac, where boundaries won't change. That's just for the rest of us.

While building the western HS won't start for a few years, FCPS is asking money for it this year, so ....

Looks like the course catalogs are pretty similar. Some of the offerings may vary, but basically the same number of options.

Like what?

The gaslighting, the teachers and administrators with deliberate indifference towards the students, the resistance and combativeness toward accommodations, and all the other problems I hear parents complain about around the county that don’t happen there.
