School Boundary changes

The gaslighting, the teachers and administrators with deliberate indifference towards the students, the resistance and combativeness toward accommodations, and all the other problems I hear parents complain about around the county that don’t happen there.

Wow. I don't know anyone at Langley, but I would be shocked if everything there is as peachy keen as you seem to think.

There are more parents zoned for Langley who send their kids to privates than in any other FCPS pyramid. It’s no private and, in fact, the class sizes are bigger than at most public schools in FCPS.

It also has its own set of issues that some schools in FCPS don’t have, including affluenza and a tendency to ignore kids who struggle because the students who fall between the cracks aren’t going to bring down the average that much. The administration is OK, not great (one former principal got fired after moving from Langley to South County and the current principal wasn’t anything special when she was an AP at Marshall before moving to Langley).

No need for you to be shocked. It isn't.

Anonymous wrote:Tysons will overcrowd Marshall with all the new development. I would guess Marshall kids could be moved to McLean, McLean kids to Langley, Langley kids to Herndon.

It's also possible that Marshall kids in Vienna would get moved to Madison, which had slightly over 2200 kids last year (which included over 100 students transfers from other pyramids) but is being expanded to 2500 seats. There isn't nearly as much development in Vienna as in Tysons so Madison might have room.

They could also move the McLean island to Falls Church, which would open up more room for Marshall kids at McLean.

Oh, there you are! How many times have you regurgitated this garbage over the years? Tell us, how many of your kids actually attended Langley? Same old song and dance from you.

Anyone fill out the Boundary Policy Review/Parent Survey that was emailed today? Surprise, surprise, the very first question was "What is your race?" followed by "Are you a Latinx?" followed by "What is your income?"

I CANNOT WAIT to be done with FCPS.

It seems that everything triggers you.

I just skipped those and the money one. I am white and earn the top bracket of the survey. I do not want my input discounted because of that.

Being asked about my race, ethnicity, and income does trigger me when there is zero need for this information. Glad you enjoy discussing it endlessly though.

Can you get an IEP for that?

Some Langley/Great Falls kids could be moved to south lakes as well. Some Great Falls kids used to go there in the 80’s too.

They tried that during the 2008 redistricting. Janie wouldn't let them.

Like I said, best to treat Langley like it doesn’t exist. Untouchable.

Langley may as well be a pyramid of private schools. They don’t have to deal with a lot of the bs the goes on with the rest of the county schools.

Like what?

That was the usual troll, impersonating a Langley parent. Just so you know.

I skipped those as well, my race and income is none of their business.

+2

Do they not understand how inappropriate and offensive those questions are? Not to mention, irrelevant?
