In this area, GA MA > ECNL North MA as of now. Race to the better local league this year. Re-assess at the end of the year when things change, as you should every year. |
So just race to a league. That is all that matters? It is that simple? |
No, you find the team, coach, and competition that's the best fit for your player. Every. Year. It may be a different answer for several years in a row, it may be the same answer every year. You keep your eyes on the environment knowing that the king today may be tomorrow's peasant. Rinse, lather, repeat. |
| FCV was left out of ECNL for political and strategic reasons. One or two kids per age group will begin to leave. The older ages still in play (04 - younger) will realize that the GA college showcases are poorly attended because college coaches on limited budgets will choose ECNL on a national level. The lack of depth of good teams on a national level will hinder GA. The league will slowly dissipate but remain. ECNL has always been on girls side the top league for colleges. They don’t care if DA had some good younger teams for two years. That experiment ended and they know bang for buck is ECNL nationally. You can cry and whine and bitch and stomp your feet all you want. You know it’s true. That is what pisses you off even more. Spare your response - I don’t give a crap. Nobody really does. The reality is if you did not get ECNL Your club will be ok, but that’s it. OK. Buh bye. |
And yet you are here posting a manifesto not giving a crap. Ok bug bye. |
Looks like your the one who lives here and responds fast to the PP.... |

Portland Thorns?
I think we know which league is the A league. https://www.soccerwire.com/news/nwsl-affiliated-portland-thorns-academy-to-join-ecnl-girls/ |
Uh huh. And yet, every GA club would give their left nut to be in ECNL. |
|
It will remain amazing to me the amount of typing ECNL propagandists need to convince themselves of their ideas.
If you are so secure in your little, special vision, why write it over and over again for months on end. Just let it play out and see what happens. I myself didn’t think we’d all be sitting in a mandated quarantine for months back in January, yet here we are. Sometimes even the best of visions turns out to be wrong. |
Club rankings are irrelevant. Need to look at the specific age group/team/coach that your daughter would play for. For example, there's a huge difference between McLean 06 and 07s. One is very good, one is not. |
And if you are a BRYC 04 this means what exactly? Please, tell us about your amazing team. Oh, did you see the thread about the Mid Atlantic Division being split into North and South? I wonder how ECNL plans to fill out a North Division? B teams? NPL teams? New VA clubs that aren’t in GA? |
Top clubs in any area are in ECNL and that is the case in the DMV. The only top club not in the ECNL is FCV. Arlington and MU are not at the same level. They weren't before DA and they are not now. |
The Soccerwire rankings are a joke. FCV is not a top club. They were just in an awful division in the DA. They only looked good because that division didn’t have many teams come from the ECNL. A perfect example of that is the FCV 04 team that is ranked overall 2 in the DA and first in their poor conference can’t beat lower level ECNL teams. FCV was the worst club in the area when they were in the ECNL. |
I am not an FCV fan but FCV is one of the top teams in the DMV. NT and YNT players, league records and players going to DI schools sets the club apart from the middle of the pack. Stop! I am not an FCV fan but FCV is one |
Arlington is better than some of the clubs currently in ECNL. That may not last with the way things have fallen out but based on the teams as they existed on February 1st, Arlington would have contended well against the ECNL clubs from 03 down. |
