SJP had been leaking rumors about Kim holding up the movies for more pay over the years. I guess it is over due for a public smack down. |
I think Kristin Davis and Cynthia Davis are good friends. |
She is on the record as supporting Kim Cattrall asking for more money and saying Kim should not be vilified for it. http://www.telegraph.co.uk/culture/film/starsandstories/3673501/Sex-and-the-City-The-Movie-exclusive-on-set-report.html |
that was what I was thinking. |
Yep, yep, yep. |
| There is a lot of evidence SJP is a decent person who is pretty down to earth. There is also a lot of evidence that Kim Cattrall was high maintenance even by Hollywood standards. |
This. My favorite tidbit that I read was that they each had two personal assistants, except for Kim who had three. |
After people realized the manipulative stuff she was pulling to try to force Kim in to another train wreck of a movie. More importantly, Kim says she didn't ask for more money. Kim said there weren't even conversations. See what SJP did? |
I totally disagree. I would be touched and consider it an olive branch, of sorts. |
The linked article (from 2008) is about the first movie, not the third. Cattrall demanded more money to do that movie, resulting in her earning $6 million for the film while Nixon and Davis earned only $2 million each. You really think the producers decided to offer Cattrall three times as much money as Davis and Nixon out of the goodness of their hearts? Of course not, it was because Cattrall wouldn’t sign on without a bigger paycheck. Good for her, women should be negotiating bigger paychecks to reflect their worth, but let’s not pretend it didn’t happen in order to vilify someone else. |
THIS has been troubling me all weekend. I thought they were all besties. I've been tearing up after learning this isn't true |
And yet other people besides SJP, including Willie Garson (who played Stanford), came out at the time and said that Kim Cattrall spent six months negotiating a contract for SATC 3 and then quit because she wasn't getting the terms she wanted. That's her prerogative, but don't lie and say you were never interested and there were never conversations when you were having conversations for six months, during which time other cast and crew members put other projects and paychecks on hold because they thought you were sincere about wanting to do a third movie. It's deeply disrespectful to everyone involved. SJP was and will be fine, but for others, that was a big hit, professionally and financially, that Kim Cattrall refuses to even acknowledge. |
DOnt be so mean. I've already been crying over this |
Wait, didn't she quit Big Law in one of the movies? Anyone remember? I thought she did and took a job with a non-profit, or something. |
Are you always this naive? |
