The air we breathe, the food we eat, the school we benefit from--far too much of this favors the elites (of all political groups). Off topic, but the move to disrupt white spaces such as restaurants serving brunch has been very interesting and provocative.

You want to take away private property?

No, but I do think that public and private spaces should be reimagined. Law enforcement is there for the rich man--to protect his property interests. I'm just saying that the balance is out of whack.

What does the bolded mean?

Some of the black teens were uninvited guests at a private pool. The white lady and police officer behaved very badly. Both sides were wrong.

However, I didn't really see the other cops doing much of anything to diffuse the situation and I did see teens swarming all around the area. I heard them being asked by the officer to 'sit on the ground until they get to the bottom of this.' That is a reasonable request no matter what color you are. Why did they not do this? Is the officer expected to leave unruly teens swarm around and out of sight? His first priority is to defend and protect himself. Those 2 boys came at him when his back was turned. I can't hear what they may have said to provoke the reaction of him unholstering his weapon.

There are too many missing facts here to pass judgement. However calling this an act of racism is jumping the gun a tad too quickly. Not every incident involving white cops and black people is racism.

The teens didn't have to utter a word. The bolded is enough.

they told the kids to disperse and leave, then when some went to leave, they told them to sit on the ground
kids were sitting on the ground
some kids even came up to one of the cops and gave him his flashlight
what about the kid following the cop around recording him, how come he did not have to comply with the get on the ground order?

That kid was white.

Show the world someone who wants to be a cop and the world will see someone with the highest propensity for being a douchebag with terrible self esteem and self worth. "I'll be a cop and I'll show the world how great I am!" and then cry about the danger. We all wished we had super powers when we were young. A gun and complicit gang of friends, other cops, is as close as one can be to being that elusive super person... but then the absolute super power absolutely super corrupts. Wanting to be a cop is in itself an admission to having tendencies to be a bully, a desire to control, a narcissism uncontrollable. Let's insist that all cops be paramedics with a four year university degree too, and watch the change from bully to public service happen and sweep through the ranks. Make the "code of silence" what it is... a crime. It makes the silent cop who witnessed a crime done by their partner an accomplice to a crime. Yet the cover up is the the status quo. Make lying on the stand as a cop a 10 year felony. Make evidence planting or tampering a 20 year felony. Make lying about shooting someone a capital crime. Mix and match partners every day to flush out duplicity. Make being a cop a four year public service maximum and then a year must be taken off and work as an EMT or paramedic (since they will already be one) before a second 4 year term can be served - unless one is able to move up in the ranks. Certainly throwing 14yo girls to the ground is NOT what a mature person of service would want to do. If you do not want to move up in the ranks, then your done after your second 4 year term. Being on the street for 8 years as a cop says something about an individual who would want to do such a thing. Certainly you can move on to another city or precinct, but 8 years is plenty in one place. If your living for the thrill, you are not the one who should have the job of a cop. It's not a thrill. It's a job and it needs to be done by someone who can handle it. Getting all ramped up by kids to the point of drawing a gun on unarmed minors who showed no evidence of being armed is exactly why all the cops are getting a bad name. I am very surprised that there have not been marches and protests against bad cops by cops of valor. We need cops; good ones; smart ones! Not punks with a gun.

Clearly you have not studied this from an non-emotional scientific standpoint.

Facebook friends and family – PLEASE HELP! That (now viral) video of the officer in McKinney subduing a girl in a bathing suit was in OUR neighborhood. The situation was NOT what is being reported…

A DJ setup in a public space next to the private pool in our neighborhood on Friday and played loud explicit (F-bomb) music for multiple hours (it is unclear if he was invited by a resident as no one has claimed responsibility). The teenagers (both black and white) were being brought into our neighborhood by the carload because the DJ was tweeting out invites to a “pool party” for $15 (obviously unauthorized by our neighborhood). The teens began fighting with each other and pushing their way into our private pool. Some were jumping our fence. The security guard was accosted when he tried to stop the beginnings of this mob scene. Some residents who live around the park/pool area tried to come out and settle things down. The teens started yelling racial slurs at our neighbors and started assaulting people and property (throwing bottles at cars and attacking a mother at the pool with 3 young children). The first officer on the scene was by himself. At that time, the party had grown to a large, aggressive crowd. As the officer arrived, many teens started running through our neighborhood. Many of the teens were being very aggressive and yelling at the officers as more arrived.

This was a very dangerous situation for the officers AND the teens/residents not involved. The news media has refused to hear the neighborhood’s side of this story. The video being distributed is only a very small segment of what happened. This information being distributed by the media and others is extremely distorted and in some cases outright lies.

PLEASE HELP US STOP THE BROADCASTING OF THIS IGNORANCE. The media is trying to make it look like our neighborhood is a white’s only, racist area. Anyone who has spent even a few minutes in our area knows this is an outright LIE.

The unfortunate result is that our neighbors are now being threatened. We have also had cars and property in and around the park area vandalized this weekend. Unfortunately, the press and social media are trying to enflame the situation.

I am asking for your help for my family and my neighbor’s safety…PLEASE, PLEASE do not rebroadcast any of these lies."

I will put money on it - this was set up by activists. A DJ just doesn't do this

The video starts off with him doing a barrel roll. The description comparing him to a dog that doesn't know which car to chase is apt. That cop is a spaz.

How can you charge $15 to enter a "public space"?

Nice kids my ass:

Gestner wrapped up his post alleging that these same kids came back into the neighborhood Saturday night. They were “kicking in people’s front door, stole a truck and crashed it into many vehicles. They vandalized dozens of cars and were stealing things.”
