Private & Independent Schools
| The drama only exists in this forum. WES is a great school. As for the teacher who had to leave due to personal reasons: it could be an urgent issue perhaps health or a family matter. If he does not wish to share this information, it is his prerogative. One should respect that. |
| That is an interesting attempt to put some spin on this. Have you considered a career in politics? The parents are too smart to buy that "press release." It's better to be honest. |
| I dont think the poster is spinning anything. If someone leaves the school for personnel reasons, so be it. If the person was terminated, so be it. It really isn't the business of the parents, even if you are paying tuition. I am sure the school is handling this appropriately from a human resource and/or legal standpoint, depending on the reason for the departure. If you are in the grade the teacher was in, then I am sure the administration explained to the parents n that garde as much as they were able to based on the situation. Leave it at that, face it, none of anyone's business. |

There is no drama at WES; great academics, great school, happy kids, wonderful community.
Those of us there, are so lucky! |
| I thought the community forum last night was very good and gave us all some positivity that we really needed. I thought the board chair (and the other board members who spoke) did a nice job; he clearly cares and is trying to move the school in the right direction. He's got the heart and the vision; now let's see if he and the rest of the board can rally the school admin and also find a new head that listens and gets tangible results. |

I think it is the business of the WES parents to ask questions when someone is terminated the day spring break begins.
Very sudden and odd. |
| In response to the current teacher(s) that are right out of a horror film, please keep an eye on your child and talk to them. Notice if they start acting sad and/or angry. It's not just children that bully children -- teachers are capable of this too. How would you like to walk on eggshells all day long -- Monday - Friday? How would you feel witnessing your classmates being mistreated (worrying that you might be next)? Even if your child is not being singled out, the whole class suffers. Quit turning a blind eye to this. Even the faculty is starting to speak up about the culprits. |
This is not the WES that I know. teachers bullying students, faculty speaking about the culprits, classmates being mistreated.... What universe is this post hailing from? Or is this the infamous WES sockpuppet? |
|
Maybe it is not the teacher. But the child or parent? Can't handle the curriculum? Maybe do some self reflection.
I do talk with my child and other parents. The teacher's are amazing. |
| Still in denial - business as usual - year after year. Gotta love the parent-run board! |
| 11:13 again -- maybe you can get some tutoring from one of the "amazing" teachers -- the plural form of teacher is "teachers" not "teacher's" |
| Parents and faculty are talking about this most recent ( a few have very quietly happened in the last few years) dismissal and are wondering what is really going on. This teacher had been asked to teach 3rd grade in order to help straighten it out. This makes the sudden departure a very curious thing. |
What is the source of this information please? If you have insider info. you should also know why he left before anybody else in this forum... |
|
Common knowledge. 3rd grade has been a problem for some time. A successful teacher was moved into that class to help. Current and common knowledge.

| Common knowledge. Sounds like 3rd grade is not going to be fixed anytime soon. Too bad -- it's an important year academically. Current and Common knowledge. |
