PP here who made sandbox comment. I stand by what I wrote, you refuse to acknowledge you have ANY role in this problem- BS meters are going off all over DCUM.
I think the reason you are so riled up is because you know there is at least some truth to what people on here are saying- yes, the many many mentally retarded, fat, bitter, unattractive, (am I missing anything?). Yes I'm sure you have been the epitome of class and respect when dealing with your sister, yet you can't stay away from comments like "rinky dink" whatever and everything else on here. so pathetic. BTW, you've used your "lowest denominator" comment several times now. Is that your catch phrase? |

OP here. Great PP, because that means you've grown tired finally of being snarky on this thread. What I had hoped by continuing this disgraceful thread is to teach you snarks a lesson that there should be no place for your snarkiness on a support forum. It has no meaningful purpose, it detracts from the honest help people seek, and it debases the DCUM completely (not to mention debasing you). But now you say you are interested in moving onto other threads to inject new snarkiness and cause more train wrecks elsewhere. Shameful and disgusting because that means you have learned nothing at all.
I'm well aware you snarks don't buy my story regarding my story. But honestly, I suspect many of you share my sister's lowly qualities. You can empathize with her because you wouldn't be able to restrain yourself if in her situation. As my husband told me once, "There are many, many common women in the world, fraught with jealousies and envy, bitter and resentful for what they don't have and others do, and they can not bring themselves of rise above those lowly feelings they all have. That's your sister. She's the common woman." And now I know that you snarks are the common women too. And to the woman who made the really unintelligent sandbox analogy, I am indeed gracious and polite with everybody. BUT - I am not a doormat to those who try to walk all over me or insult me repeatedly. Just as I stood up for myself in this thread, I did the same with my sister. I completely disagree with OP's approach to handling her sister (but I am not in her situation and can only go by what she writes- which is unfortunately unconvincing), I think OP has shown considerable low class/immaturity on the level of a Jerry Springer show in dealing with the snarkier posts, as well as some of the posts that were simply critical (perhaps difficult for her to read as she clearly cannot handle criticism well). I am also bored with her continued use of the same exact insults over and over, but what can she do? She doesn't know anyone who is criticizing her so she doesn't have much in her arsenal for attack.
I think we should let her have the last word- she put herself out there, it didn't work for her, so we should let it go. Even if someone well intentioned tried to give her kindly worded advice at this point, it's too late. She never wanted advice anyway, she wanted people to tell her she was making good choices, because deep down she knows she isn't. It's sad (as many pp's have noted), but it is what it is and she is not going to change anytime soon. |
