Katie Porter’s viral interview video

Would you attack a woman wearing a hijab interviewing a pro-Israel candidate?

She is not being “attacked”. We’re having a problem with Christian Nationalists right now and they’ve not been behaving in ethical, legal, or morally appropriate ways. So, yeah, it’s going to make people question her neutrality when she interviewing politicians.

You’ve lost the plot entirely.

It’s MAGA’s fault for weaponizing Christianity. This entire admin is praying on the job, which is beyond inappropriate. Noem just started a work lunch in Chicago with a prayer before employing 10 masked thugs to pull a woman out of her car in the school pickup line.

A cross is political in 2025 in America on politicians and journalists and talking heads.

Weird conclusion.. It doesn't make "Dems" look bad, it makes her look bad.

Her statement that we don't need MAGA is bad to say out loud. I agree with her, but I do think it makes her look as vindictive and partisan as MAGA.

That's literally what we're fighting against now. We want MAGA to realize that we're the party of labor, stable economy, and more affordable health.

It’s also true, though. MAGA is only 30% of the population. We just need the other 70% to vote.

But once elected, she works for everyone. One of the many problems with Trump is that he does not realize he is president of the United States, which also includes the Dems. He is not just the president of MAGA. He works for all of us. It would benefit Katie Porter to note that he comment reveals a similar ethos to Trump.

YOU are making the cross political. If you seriously think anyone wearing a cross must be MAGA - or even broader, must be a Republican - you are delusional.

I said in THAT setting. Why can’t MAGA see any nuance? MAGA made the cross political.

For folks willing to watch, this is the entire set of interviews, where yes, the reporter asks EVERY SINGLE CANDIDATE the same questions.

Comms 101: answer the question you want asked, not the one you were asked. Like they all did except her.

Katie's cooked.

I said Katie blew it earlier. Watching this a few things:

--The interviewer is clearly a biased Republican misogynist. She only pushed back on the women.

--The interviewer didn't ask the questions in the same way.

--I really like Betty Lee. Can we back her?

You people are delusional and also know nothing of California. Julie Watts (the journalist) is well-known in California for her investigative work with CalMatters, which is a nonprofit focused on nonpartisan takes on news. CalMatters is heavily funded by a large slate of deep blue names. She is about as far from Republican as you can get as a mainstream journalist.

She won an Emmy for her investigation into how millions were put at risk of identity theft by the EDD. She also got another Emmy for her work on cancer-causing pollution in a rural California town.

You sound like a fool.

Uh, I was born and raised in in California. Clearly you can’t refute what I said. She attacked both women. She’s wearing a cross. You can win journalism awards for pollution and still be a partisan woman-hating hack.

You question someone's ethics for wearing a cross? I wear a cross every day. I'm neither MAGA nor a Trump supporter.

Another person whose outrage is blinding them to my point.

Praying is not weaponizing anything.

Are cabinet members should not be holding prayer lunches. It’s wrong and unconstitutional.

IDC if you’re religious.

This country needs more prayers.

The prayers that justify attacking brown migrants and converting LGBTQ teens?

For NOT wanting…

Anyhow, carry on attacking the woman.

They are just extremely dumb. I’m sorry, there’s just no other reason. They have no ability to think at all.

MAGA doesn’t listen and doesn’t believe anyone who talks like a reasonable adult being honest about the complexity of government and solving our country’s problems.

The answer is for news networks, papers, influencers, and bloggers who get rich lying to get sued out of business. Then these people who are not equipped to understand or care about such complexity can find another hobby and stop destroying our country for dopamine hits.

Yeeesh, this thread. It’s a good window into how California may actually, under someone as hated and vile as Trump, elect a Republican governor. That should be utterly incomprehensible, but here we are. Between the totalitarian demands for Christian journalists to remove any signs of their faith and the absolute refusal to admit that maybe Katie Porter should understand how not to throw a temper tantrum when faced with difficult questions… the progressive left is not sending its best, I see.

Almost every liberal here said she shouldn’t have acted that way. We’re just also pointing out the double standard republicans have. Did you not read the thread or are you being intentionally dishonest?

Sure, take “well ackshually” to voters already fed up with you and see how it goes. That’s a strategy for sure. 👍

Whatever. With the vile crap that constantly spews from Trump, Vance, Miller, Bondi etc., criticism about character or tantrums etc just rings hollow. Trump leads all politicians in tantrums and bad behavior.

GOP/MAGA are hypocrites with no morals, no integrity and no decency. Dems call this out. GOP coddles the jerks and promotes them. Any criticism of this woman by the right is just laughably hypocritical and hollow.
