I can tolerate CNN and News Nation more than the God awful Fox News and MSNBC. CNN and News Nation present all sides of an argument and they're very transparent with the political lean of the person making a specific political argument. On Fox and MSNBC, you are getting half truth news with a twist 100% of the time with the news presented in a manner to trick viewers into thinking they're receiving straight-forward real news with no twists.

When there are significantly newsworthy global events, CNN does as good a job as any covering the story anywhere with their web of correspondents throughout the world.

They also include pundits who give the arguments of from all sides of the political spectrum in their political round tables. While doing so, they make it very clear what the political biases of the people speaking are. CNN isn't the one-sided wool over the sheep's eyes network they used to be. They aren't perfect but they may be the only cable news network that serves a useful purpose.

The problem with CNN is what they choose NOT to cover.

63 seconds…

That’s how long Legacy Media spent on Democrat Jay Jones’s text messages fantasizing about killing his political opponents and their children.

PBS: 0
ABC: 0
CBS: 0
CNN: 0
NBC: 63

The top law enforcement officer in VA and they didn’t cover it.

Oh please. I said I hate CNN and not one of those is reporting in the felon’s “lack of mental capacity” to run the nation, nor his much he is “grifting”and “attacking”American communities with masked thugs—all MUCH bigger stories than a statewide candidate.

Jay Jones is some idiot state level politician wannabe. He doesn't deserve national attention. CNN doesn't cover local news you two-bit hillbilly.

And yet they are discussing the California gubernatorial race. Not much different than the Virginia gubernatorial election which Jones is part of.

They chose not to cover it because they don’t want to acknowledge LW violence.

Did CNN cover the state level republican in NC who put drugs in his granddaughters ice cream? Probably not. Because it’s local politics, not team sports.

Dude, you can't accuse her of behaving "this way" (however you want to characterize it) when nobody is looking. She literally knew she was on camera.

She's not soft or simpering. For heaven's sake, she's a politician. You knew that. It doesn't come with a retiring or kittenish personality.

She put hot mashed potatoes on her ex husband's head ...

Well, he alleged it as part of divorce proceedings. He later said he regretted doing so.

Are you unfamiliar with what happens in divorce court?

She didn't deny it.

Do you lie because you have nothing else?

Those include allegations made during her divorce with ex-husband Matthew Hoffman, such as him accusing her of dumping boiling potatoes on his head. Porter has denied those accusations and filed a restraining order against Hoffman, accusing him of abuse as well.

Oh, great! Glad she doesn't have a temper after all.

She may have issues but I don’t think the husband thing is it. There were allegations he was violent towards her so that puts it in context. Plus she got the kids. If she were truly the violent one, I think that would not have happened.
She still doesn’t seem great. Then again, I’m a very nice person and would never be in a position to run for governor. Most politicians z seem to have some personality flaws. Normal people don’t really want that job.

Agree with your last point. Republicans have made their peace with that.

+1 as have Democrats

Except the ones on this thread who just can’t get past what a meany Katie Porter is.

Sorry - if Katie Porter was a Republican, you'd be having a field day with what a toxic person she clearly is. Sorry this triggers you.
DP

Porter is basically a Republican. They are generally interchangeable. She had a seat in the swamp with the rest of the corrupt swamp creatures. Many of them enter Congress with sincere intentions to do right by their constituents and then 90% of them play the please the donors game. So sickening!

Porter is a left wing Democrat. At least be honest.

Exactly. Which is why Fox News, with all of its own flaws, is extremely useful if you want to get the full picture on any issue.

No sweetheart. She is 100% progressive democrat. Through and through. Just like Harris, she treats her staff like garbage. She bragged on TV that her 12 year old daughter was crying about not being able to get an abortion because of Trump. She believes women can and do have penises.

No babe, she is the poster child for your team.

Lol... on my team? Anyone claiming the GOP or Dem Party as their "team" in 2025 is a complete and utter idiot. If you're claiming one of them as your "team".... the teacher just asked for idiots to raise their hand and you raised your hand. Good job.

This is just false. I found several articles talking about the Jay Jones threat scandal on CNN, CBS, PBS, ABC and so on. Including CNN criticizing Dems for not demanding he drop out.

Examples

https://www.cnn.com/2025/10/06/politics/jay-jones-texts-virginia-democrats

https://www.cnn.com/2025/10/08/politics/jay-jones-virginia-democrat-attorney-general-race

https://www.cbsnews.com/news/virginia-attorney-general-candidate-jay-jones-faces-bipartisan-backlash-violent-inflammatory-text-messages/

This old "MSM isn't even talking about it" shtick just doesn't work. It might work in right wing bubbles where nobody ever visits those channels or websites, but out in the real world it's just plain false.

Is this the current party line any time a Democrat acts badly? It is, of course, a lie. Porter is a progressive Democrat.

ABC was too busy talking about Mark Sanchez for at least two nights on the network news. Ignored Jay Jones. Not a word.
