Holton parents - you have got to help your girls out with these skirts.

I've reported a couple of posts but there's too many gross comments to keep up. I'm hoping it's just one deranged person making many comments instead of multiple people.

What’s wrong with the images of the girls?

There are 12 pages of posts discussing this already.

I agree that the people who posted the photos in the thread were out of line, and the lewd comments are of course awful.

However, if it's "disgusting" for adults to see these photos of these students, then that should be blamed on the Holton leadership for putting these photos on the website. As others have mentioned, no other schools in the area have equivalent photos up, even thought the practice of rolling skirts and wearing them as short as possible is in fact quite prevalent.

And I ask you: would you rather have this conversation on DCUM, which really is mostly populated with local parents who actually do want what's best for these kids and these schools (even when their ideas of how girls should dress differ from yours) or on some reddit sub where they just link to photos on Holton's site and jack off?

There is nothing wrong with the photos. What is wrong is bringing them up for discussion on a public forum and forgetting that there are actual children in them who have access to this conversation and it could be humiliating for them to see where your sick mind goes.

Holton parent here. I showed this thread to my wise Holton senior. Her reaction: “It’s really not that deep…Why do these people care?”

These girls are stick-thin with thigh gaps but if they turned around and stretched just a smidge they’d be showing @ss. It’s not the bodies, it’s the skirts. And it’s clearly intentional by the school because this is the header image for the school’s mission landing page.

Yikes! Those skirts are insanely short and inappropriate for a web page. I can’t think of any shorts that wouldn’t hang out.

How sad for you and your senior. Have some self respect.

PP here. Does it really matter what the girls wear? After all, it is the DMV private with the highest percentage of National Merit Scholar semifinalists

The primary objection of most people on this thread is to the school posting photos of the girls wearing such short skirts on the website.

And people care because we know there are people out there who eagerly look for photos like that because it gets them off, and it's very disturbing that the school would enable this with those photos, when they could have just chosen other photos, as most schools do.

Of course your HS student doesn't understand this. She's a child and doesn't realize how gross and horrible the world is yet. She will learn. Check back with her in 15 years, once she's gone through college and her 20s as a woman, and ask her if the school should have done more to protect Holton students online? I bet she'll think it's a little more deep then.

You know they gotcha them up or fold the top of the skirt over when out of sight of their moms

I’m not talking about uniform skirts in this case. I’m talking about short miniskirts that are wider than they are tall. And tight booty shorts. Crop tops. Shorts that are so short that when the girl wears a normal sweatshirt or shirt it looks like she isn’t wearing pants. Just why? I’m embarrassed and it’s not even my kid.
