Bethesda Delco Parents Brawl?

Parents won't be allowed to games following this. SC is under investigation is has been suspended until resolved. I don't know if any of the players have been disciplined.

Bethesda needs to get rid of KL and SC. KL can't coach older age groups as his 06s went downhill slowly after U15. Bethesda had to buy OPSA after KL destroyed the 07 team and didn't have enough players. I don't think he had much to do with the 08s. Can't really place blame on KL or SC for 09s although the 09s have not improved this year since KL took over. The 2010s are also seeing a downturn of success now even though they have only added good players. Guessing the 2011s are only going to follow the same track.

SC may be an excellent Soccer Coach but he has zero hold of his temper and his arrogance and people skills are trash. Any Coach with good management would have never allowed these parents to act in this manner game after game.

Year after year of complaints of KL coaching and treatment of players. Year after year of problems with SC misbehaving, and starting fights with other teams and coaches. MN may not be directly coaching but has also been causing problems. Remember all these individuals (KL, SC, JC and MN) are in a "friends circle" that includes JC which prevents anyone from losing their position.

All of this is a shame because Bethesda is still a respected Club as they have been around for so long. A lot of coaches outside the DMV would be happy to relocate for the ECNL oppurtunity at Bethesda. I honestly don't understand how nothing has been done.

IF you are at Bethesda or considering, RUN away until ECNL management and coaching staff has been removed. I know the MDU coaches aren't exactly highly regarded but they are better than Bethesda except for SV. Other option is obviously going over the bridge.

You sound very bitter. The 2010s have made it to Richmond the last two years . Both 2010 and 2011 won their league last year under KL. There is a place for everyone to play soccer at every level . Don’t be mad because your DD didn’t get chosen or didn’t remain on Bethesdas first team.

Isnt this all old news at this point? You sound whiney MoCo mom. It sucks! Everyone knows which is why its usually quiet about MD. There is no place else to go we'll deal with it and so will many others cause GA aint it.

Everyone who wasn’t there conveniently painting it like the Delco parents, players and coach had nothing to do with this. You all know it takes two to tango and the provocations go both ways in order for things to escalate. This is part of the landscape of competitive sports at every level - from kids to pro. No, it is not great or normal, nobody is proud of it but it happens. Drawing far reaching conclusions from it is self serving at best.

Tell us you are one of the Bethesda parents involved without telling us you were one of the Bethesda parents that was involved.

Was not one of the parents involved but have seen plenty of this everywhere over the years. It happens, folks. If you haven’t been involved in something like this, good for you. If you want to feel like you are so much better than the ones that were involved this past weekend, go for it. But drawing general conclusions and smearing coaches and players from it all in favor of running to another club is major bs.

The 2010s have lost four games in row. Parents are fed up with KL. How come every team KL has had start going down hill at U15? 05s, 06s and 07s. Those are the teams he had when coming over to Bethesda and every one went down hill. Maybe he should stick to U Littles because that is the only place he has had success. Oh, and btw, Bethesda has the worst program for college placement than any in the DMV. Despite the 08s having the top team in the DMV other than VDA, college commitments are scarce. The girl going to FSU got there because of USYNT, not Bethesda. Compare commitments to VDA, Union, or NVA…The latest episode isn’t going to help Bethesda recruiting either. Many college coaches who are aware of this episode are going to straight up cross the players of the parents off their lists. Coaches do not want to take any chances of these types of antics in college. Outside USYNT talent, D1 talent is a dime a dozen in ECNL.

As an example, there is an excellent player from another quality ECNL team in the DMV that has not committed yet and I can tell you for a 100% fact it is because of the crazy parents and poor attitude of the player.

The 10s already clinched playoffs… they don’t care. The 10s have made it to Richmond back to back years… they are fine.

Wrong. Not sure if you realize or not but if White parents were saying the similar things to black players on the field, players and families would have been removed from the team and perhaps worse. SC has one of the worst reputations around and was all but blacklisted from ECNL and GA clubs in NY/NJ. Fact. Although SC red card was a separate incident than the parents. I don’t know the players involvement and if you think they are being smeared, it’s only by relation to the parents. I don’t think I have seen any posts smearing any kid directly.
