Hey! Good for you |
You don’t even recognize your virtue signaling. Your first assumption is that a reference to Bethesda has to be racist. My experience as someone who is not White is that many of the parents I know in Bethesda are not White and those parents as well as White parents I know are balanced individuals who are supportive of their kids and will celebrate a good play from the opposition. And Bethesda can field super competitive teams just with Bethesda families and those from surrounding cities like Rockville, NW DC, Potomac, etc. not saying that you will not get an a-hole parent but the vast majority will be model parents. There are over a dozen players from the area that are currently playing high level college soccer. No virtue signaling, just pointing out how quick such a ‘model parent’ is to hurl insults at others on an anonymous blog that is shaming other parents for bad behavior. So let me double this down for you - based on what you’ve expressed so far - not only are you a privileged prejudiced non-white parent from Bethesda / Chevy Chase, you are also a hypocrite. And all that is fine because nobody cares. There are great local clubs that play rec or travel that gladly source players from the immediate geographic area, that includes BSC. But if you’re rostering teams that aim to compete nationally, you have to cast a wider net. And that brings a variety of people. Yes, different folk than the predominantly white and affluent folk in Bethesda / Chevy Chase (please look up demographic data, it is widely available) that you choose to surround yourself with so I see why you might not like them but all you can do really is try to get over it. Nobody is building a wall for BSC player recruitment any time soon😂 |
You seem like a lovely person. |

They should also be banned but with apologists like you in the mix, such behavior will just continue. The girls can see you when you do this. |
I am pretty sure they are, heard from at least a couple. It was an unfortunate event that everyone would have liked didn’t happen.
So they don’t need you. Only you need you to shame other because it makes you feel good about yourself. All better now? |
accountability is uncomfortable. growth comes from disccomfort
you're welcome |
Thanks! |
My daughter plays on a Maryland ECNL 08 team and they have played Bethesda many times over the years. Because of the actions of a few of the parents, Bethesda has a reputation of being one of the worst parent groups across the league. It’s a shame that the club has let this go on for so long. |
Its also a shame that one team's parents can cast a palor on the club as a whole... |
It isn't one just one team. |
It boggles the mind that Bethesda lets this nasty a** dude anywhere near its girls teams. Does he have something on the Coltons? Employing him does not sound worth it. |
Good. Will being ashamed get them to behave better next time? |
It might |
Not likely. Some people have no shame. |
A coach is married to a former player he coaches? Ew. |
