There probably are some things that can get you crossed off the recruiting lists, but my guess is a lighthearted forum joke is not one of them. Being a sociopath parent could actually get you crossed off, and there are some people on this forum who are definitely acting the part.

Are the coaches listed the ones who select who is on the team? Or do they have independent evaluators select the teams?

Gussie and Capital are the regional rep and club affiliation. They select the independent evaluators and then the evaluators select the team. The age group coaches do not select their players.

Wish I had seen this earlier as I would have said...Save your money! If the Virginia team is coached by Capital, the chances your player will make the team are slim. They tend to take their Blue team (even the ones who do not show up due to injury still make the team), one or two of their orange team, and only a few outsiders (some might have played for Capital orange and changed teams for more playing time). Why take money from all of these kids trying out if they will have the slimmest shot of making this team.

the 2027 team has zero outsiders who played for Orange.

Seems lots of the top talent in MD either went to AA or don’t want to waste their $$$.

Oddly enough AS became a thing to avoid the politics of AA tryouts. Now, with two teams and rising 8th grader teams, total $$$ grab.
