Fall Brawl

So I guess the talent is not falling after all but still on the rise. It also appears that Lightridge HS which is totally a feeder program from DS won both boys and girls' divisions in HS. I guess DS is the dominant program at Fall Brawl. Haters are gonna hate.

Lightridge Boys were in the 3rd-Tier Division and while they played well and went undefeated, 3 of their opponents were the "B/JV" Teams from Robinson, Oakton and Freedom. They are certainly on the rise, but no where near the top of Virginia Public HS Lax.

LR girls are a top team.

Thanks DS dad. Still a classless program and average talent. Lightridge is not a good program either. Next time select better guest players if you want to win and not get dominated at Fall Brawl.

DS alum just signed a PLL contract. The third PLL player. So there is that.

And another has a well earned reputation as the dirtiest player in northern Virginia, so there’s that too.

Someone is fascinated with one guy that may not have shaken hands.

Lots of great DS coaches and players that do it the right way.

DS girls won everything they played in. 5/6 girls and 7/8 girls won. Lightridge girls won the 2nd highest bracket. Beat O’Connell west Springfield Westfield Chantilly flint hill and stone bridge.

Congrats for light ridge winning the JV bracket. Next time step up and play with the varsity teams in the top bracket. None of those teams listed that LR beat are any good.

DS can’t compete on the boys side.

Not fascinated, more like disgusted. Who does that?

My daughter was on a team that played against the DS 5/6 girls and was surprised by how much the girls were cussing and swearing at them during the game. Didn't realize that was part of their gameplay and the coaches did not seem to mind.

You are literally making up stuff.

My daughter played on the 5/6 team. Those coaches never cuss and would NEVER allow their players to.

That team plays hard and does it the right way. They had no recruits on the team. They took their foot off the gas in most of the games.

Someone a couple posts had it correct. Haters gonna hate

Chiming in as another parent of a 5/6 Girls player, DD said that more than one DS player was talking trash and using profanity during the game.

I coached rec many years ago. Dulles South was among the most unsportsmanlike organizations then and it sounds like not much has changed.

Trash talking and profanity on the field is not exclusive to DS. It starts to ramp up probably around 6th grade so perhaps your 5th grader hasn’t experienced it much. It’s happening in every game middle school and up.

*I do not have a child on the DS 5/6 team so not defending them and have no knowledge of what was said.

lol, there was no taking their foot off the gas. DS is not good and it shows in all of their lackluster High School programs.

Lackluster HS programs? For several seasons Briar Woods was the best in the state, then Indy opened and split the talent. Freedom was in the state semis. On the girls side they won a few state titles. Light ridge is new but on the rise and Champe is solid. However, clearly the best talented team in the state this year will be PVI and they have been most years. PVI is mostly Dulles South players and has been for years. I would guess Dulles South has more D1 players than any program in NVYLL by a large margin. Hardly lack luster.
