Harris lost in part because she’s a woman of color.

However, Harris lost mostly because her campaign never understood what’s motivating most Americans at the polls — namely, jobs and inflation.

She ran a better campaign than Clinton and was royally screwed by Biden, who should have dropped out much earlier. But ultimately she made the same mistake as Clinton.

+1 and I’m a woman. I’m relieved this morning. My young daughter and I were watching the results last night on tv. She said it best. “I really don’t like Trump as a person. But I don’t like Harris either and hope she doesn’t win. Trump would be a better president.”

My teen daughter and I are absolutely delighted this morning. You all never spoke for us, and we told you so, repeatedly on this board.

I originally posted about my daughter and look what happened. People asked for reasons why. I gave our experiences and immediately insults and doubts that it happened. Things will change when you stop being so hateful and start trying to understand where others are coming from instead of just throwing insults.

The fact that she's a woman, yes, and because she couldn't/didn't separate from Biden. His unpopularity was a millstone around her neck. Trump was calling Pierre ricans garbage a week before the election, called for the suppression of the free press, and for Liz Cheneys execution all in the past week. Not sure why Dems are judged on a double standard. The question isn’t why Kamala lost - it’s why did trump win despite all of his disqualifying factors including counted felonies, staging a coup, being twice impeached for quid pro quo and trying to obstruct democracy, his general vileness and all the other corruption of his first term.

And I honestly have no idea. I am completely puzzled. Trump is a disaster of a candidate. My best guess is that voters just didn’t “like” Kamala for the same reasons they didn’t “like” Hillary- deeply rooted misogyny. The war in Gaza also likely fractured democratic support, not unlike Bernie bros in 2016.

Hilary and Kamala are two deeply unlikable women. I held my nose and voted for both but neither one have a shred of likability.

I have posted on here many times over the past few years that illegal immigration was going to sink the ticket. I cited immigration stats directly from my subscription NYT. Most of my posts were deleted or I was called a troll. This is the problem with living in an echo chamber. If Biden had addressed the border issues and focused on inflation I think she would have won.
