| Thanks for clearing that up. I thought you went on the field and stole the ball for them. |
I saw the list for the second round and some of those they called back are very questionable. |
| Is this boys or girls? |
Well, unless the US Soccer scouts have a vested interest in forming a bad team with questionable players (a distinct possibility given the history of bad soccer in this country), they must either see something we don’t or be looking for something specific. |
Or the talent pool is so limited that even the mediocre are being looked at. |
Can you provide any actual context or an example? Like a player we know is questionable because they do not even have a starting spot on their team, but received a 2nd round invite? Or we have observed that player and the just don't hassle as much as the rest of the team? Or that player is the coaches son, they are good, but not as good as other players who did not even get picked? |
It's the team coaches recommending based on bias not talent. |

Hundreds will be called into a ID Center across the country over a few years in a specific age group/birth year. Probably 50-60 are then invited to a YNT Camp at least once. 30 or so make it to a second camp at some point.
There is usually a core group of players that gets called into most/all camps, but that's 5-6 players in each birth year. Hopefully with Kong's huge donation, the ID level process will improve and won't be the huge cattle calls they currently are. And hopefully, the YNT camps will be more frequent and get the players training together more often. |
That may or may not be the case for the first round, but it sounds like the second round was based on direct observation of the first round. If your kid didn’t make it but you believe your Johnny is better than Tommy who made it, perhaps you should take it up with US Soccer that their scouts are actively sabotaging what should be a fair, unbiased process for you.

| My sons coach and is the director of our club picks all his team coordinator children every year to go to the USUNT IDs they are not the best on their team’s and don’t deserve to go shame on the mls next league. |
You should let your pocketbook do the talking. Go to a different club and have your son get selected to the national team pool. That will show players at the old club there are more honest places where parents can spend money for your kids. |
let me guess, DCU |
| The only way kids stand out in these events is if they hog the ball and run fast. That’s a selfish player for you. |
Hahahahahaa. |
