Well, unless the US Soccer scouts have a vested interest in forming a bad team with questionable players (a distinct possibility given the history of bad soccer in this country), they must either see something we don’t or be looking for something specific.  [/quote]

That may or may not be the case for the first round, but it sounds like the second round was based on direct observation of the first round.  If your kid didn’t make it but you believe your Johnny is better than Tommy who made it, perhaps you should take it up with US Soccer that their scouts are actively sabotaging what should be a fair, unbiased process for you.  ;)
