USYNTs have been doing very well against European and other International competition.
MLS academies have been doing very well against European academies in tournaments, friendlies and international matches.
The results aren't hidden.

Currently, it's when we get to the Seniors levels you see the gap widen.

That's because we are short term investors in youth talent in the US. We take the fastest and biggest kids and put them on our national teams and have them run hard and tackle hard but don't reach them how to use their minds. At the younger ages physical dominance plays a bigger role because there are huge gaps in physical development of the same age players and we.phusically dominate opponents. Why we are successful u15-u17. Once the physical advantage wanes at older ages and the kids have to actually play they are now going up against kids that have been using their minds and skills to solve problems for years instead of their braun and our teams fall behind. Short term, we look like we are successful. Long term we are not

Get over yourself soccer fan/parent. Who is the "we" in this statement? You're not involved in the selection process and don't know anything about it. You're just parroting what hear on boards like this and maybe what you think you see in our national team players.

Yes, our kids have some talent and skills too.

But after U20 and the tactical understanding and IQ becomes more important since everyone is big, fast and strong. We struggle as a collective.

Honest truth, scouts are not looking for SYC players. What do I mean by that? Simple the scouts have been watching these players from other clubs and following them. There is no way a club can develop a payer in one seasons. These kids already have a lot of talent.

We are with SYC and I have yet to see scouts at our games.

They may never be at your games. If your kid, and you as a parent, are relying on "scouts" discovering your kid at a game it 99% won't happen.

He needs to be emailing coaches expressing interest in the school and program. And not just once but regularly. He needs to send videos from games, practices/workouts, send emails commenting on how the college team has been doing recently and etc.

The club and coaches actually do very little of the heavy lifting of getting a kid on a college team. The vast majority is done by the player (not parents, the college coaches don't want parents emailing them) This is why you don't necessarily see any scouts at games.

SYC 'forgot' to mention the 2010 player who transferred to Red Bull and was invited to the ID. Shows they are just rushing to post.

I'm sorry but I disagree. USNT scouts has been to at least four of our games last season. Scouts do come out.

I'm waiting to see if there is actually any effect on expanding the ID's for the girls side, but that $30 million donation is to be paid out over 5 years to US Soccer via Michelle Kang.

This is a little mistaken, I'd say. As noted by other posters, the players that moved on from SYC were not developed at SYC and there is no exposure difference between SYC and any other MLS Next squad (or even maybe ECNL squads). The players were already recognized as standouts prior to coming to SYC. If anything, I think SYC could be able to take credit for the players, and their parents, choosing to go to SYC when they could have played anywhere.
