Weird way to phrase it. Trump's running on the current damaging abortion policy which HIS SCOTUS created, which Dems will overturn when/if they get a majority. This is a huge liability for Trump. |
Once again he has said the same thing in recent interviews including the debate with Biden it is now up to the STATES!! Seriously what do you not understand? Trump has said it is where it should have always been.....the states and for the people to decide. If Trump gets reelected nothing will change on this. If Kamala gets elected nothing will change on this. Get it? The Democrats love to dangle this issue like a carrot for women. Meanwhile we have a Democratic President in office now. Why isn't he doing anything if you think this is a federal issue? |
THIS The last 4 years have been totes cool. But god forbid Trump gets elected women will suffer! |
The left’s invented ‘right’ to steal. Theft will be theft again, not ‘inventory loss’.
Retirement accounts will be left to their owners. All bank and brokerage accounts will be left to their owners. |
Got it. You think the states should be able to determine what people in those states do with their own bodies. Right? |
Why do you think this is a states issue? Are there examples of other medical treatments being outlawed in one state vs. another? |
+1 |
Where does the Constitution give Congress the power to regulate the types of medical treatments that are available within states? This matters. As for Trump: he is not taking any rights away at the moment, as he is not working for the government. That said, I would be very concerned if he became president again, as he has threatened free speech rights in the past (threatening to sue publications that published articles of which he did not approve), and has threated voting rights by arbitrarily stating that certain votes in certain states are "rigged" and "unfair" and by asking at least one state to "find" some votes for him. The threat to democracy and free elections is real, as is the threat to the peaceful transfer of power. He also made no attempt to regain rights that Americans had already lost before his presidency, including the right to be safe from domestic warrantless spying by the NSA and other agencies. |
The supremacy clause. They can’t require care be available— they can’t force doctors to move back to the places they’re already fleeing, for example— but they can pass laws which protect the legality of care, which is what Roe did. |
Yes, the Supremacy Clause. The "if it's not directly written in the Constitution" is a false argument. |
What exactly are you looking for? In polls a majority of Americans want women to have access to abortions but up to a certain point. It is up to the states to decide on what that is. If you want no limits on abortion then vote for state candidates who support the same thing. |
Euthanasia. Only a few states have "right to die" laws in place. |
The Constitution doesn't specifically address artificial intelligence. Are you saying that it's, therefore, inappropriate for the federal government to regulate its use? |
He brags about it because he’s probably ignorant enough to believe he did it. I don’t know how to tell you this, but just because he says it doesn’t make it true. He wants to be seen as a powerful and scary guy, regardless of the truth. And it boosts Dem campaigns to paint him as a scary guy, regardless of the truth. |
I can see how a trusting and optimistic voter might have looked at the Dobbs decision and concluded it would now be a states issues. Except the right wing immediately— immediately— started trying to put together a national ban. In September of 2022 they were rolling out a 15 week national ban. They have showed us what they want and we would be foolish to believe that changed. |
