European Parliament Elections Going Far Right

I've been wondering for years when people will wake up and realize runaway immigration is going to change the West permanently and profoundly.

I spent some years in a nation that is diverse. It doesn't work.

Do you think the West can withstand the vast cultural, religious, societal upheavals that will occur in the next generation? Westeners will be a minority. That is a fact. The West has been subjected to psychological warfare, in order to enable these changes to take place. You can call the psychological warfare Political Correctedness if you wish.

Look at the American Indians. They were thoroughly, completely silenced, and thoroughly, completely destroyed. What is left of their nation and their culture is in shambles. They never recovered, and likely will never recover. Their nation was certainly thoroughly and completely transformed.

Some of the changes: Westeners will be discriminated against, because that is what happens to a conquered people. Again, look to the American Indians as a reference point. Women's rights and animal rights will probably erode, with animal rights suffering greatly.

I’ve also spent time in diverse countries and it was fine. So unless you say which country, it’s kind of hard to take your opinion seriously.

ok- so this guy has mental health issues- that is not common behavior in muslims.

Second- noone ever replied to my question about people from former colonies- when these europeans's grandparents and great grandparents went to India for example they were met by a movement called "quit India" that demanded that people from the UK ... quit india and go back home. Did they- go back to the UK and leave india? same with Algeria, all of the Middle East, Ivory coats, Ghana, Nigeria, Mali, Malawi, Botswana, Kenya, Malaya.

the Chinese were absolutely desperate since the europeans were literally selling their citizens drugs! they were like stop selling drugs! and the British were like how dare you tell us to not sell drugs- this is like if the governments of Mexico and the golden triangle told the USA that the cartels had every right to sell drugs in the United States. Same with state trade secrets- we are so upset at intellectual property theft but do you think the global south has forgotten how tea plants were smuggled out of China?

At the end of the day George W. Bush and Georgia Melloni are correct- you have to deal fairly with Africa so that the africans have an incentive to stay IN Africa. George Bush famously suggested " that why are we sending food aid- cant we teach how to grow their own" and got yelled at as stupid b/c American companies make enormous amounts of money selling that aid to the UN (so when we 'fund with tax payer dollars' the UN and WHO & WFO- American corporations and stockholder get that money back as payment for aid & equipment)

People in the global south could be scammed for a short time but you cant scam all the people all the time, at some point they will wake up and realize they are being scammed and then western nations will have to pay. It's a much better idea to stop scamming people as suggested by Ms. Melloni. and quit with the regime changes- if they want better democratic liberal governments, they'll elect them. there is a reason the French were appalled by the US invasion of Iraq- it wasn't b.c they felt bad for Saddam Hussein.

I'm incredibly liberal but I can completely understand that the leftist view that we should let the world be set on fire and whoever is lucky enough to escape is cruel and so can a lot of otherwise liberal people. the europeans and Americans caused this problem so stop demonizing people of different races and religions and creating a desperate 'winner take all' scenario.

BS. That is not a Muslim prayer. You’re supposed to bow down a couple of times and then stand upright. You’re not supposed to just bend over and stay like that. That dude looks like he’s sleeping.

Look, there are almost 2 BILLION Muslims in the world. Islam is also the fastest growing religion in the world. Your Islamophobia is not making things better.

Clearly most can’t differentiate between countries accepting refugees where it is a deliberate decision which involves setting targets or quotas (eg Germany taking 1 million Syrians), planned migration which may not may not include people from particular countries (eg Canada, Australia), and illegal migration which is incredibly difficult to stop.

Where it is planned, there are levers that can control it and public pushback can alter government policy. For example, Canada’s admission of huge numbers including many from the Punjabi region. Australia is also cutting back on legal permanent migration and the housing crisis is causing pushback against the 800,000 international students admitted each year.

But illegal immigration is incredibly difficult to control. And it is much harder in the EU than here where there is largely just one land border with Mexico to worry about. The EU has to deal with the entire Mediterranean Sea and entry over land borders in the east. No wall could protect those. The US largely has some 600 million people in central and South America to worry about. Europe has 1.5 billion in Africa plus those in the Middle East and Asia. So any war or climate-related disaster can result in a huge movement of people.

This idea of Europe having open borders to the world is ridiculous. Why do you think the EU has given $1 billion in aid to Lebanon? To stop it becoming a new route. Why do you think the EU funds the Libyan coastguard? To try to stop boats. I’m sure they would love to hear your brilliant ideas.

To not remove a stable government in Libya would have been an obvious answer if time machines were available.

Well, unintended consequences and all that. Many things might have been done differently or not at all in the Middle East if people had realised how it would play out.

Like the weapons of mass destruction lie, the consequences of the invasion of Iraq, many saw this coming. Many chose to ignore facts because it offended them in some form or fashion.

Too many immature adults these days. I suppose those are the “weak men” that will bring in “hard times”.

Fascism and far-right ultra nationalistic ideologies always pop up during times of upheaval and economic uncertainty. But they never have answers that truly work. No, just simplistic answers for very complex problems, that appeal to the emotions rather than the intellect.

It's always short lived as people revolt against this stuff.

Pretty much! But a lot of people don't have the brain power to understand this.

Better to just let the country be run by Islamic law.

Le Pen’s party is projected to come out on top in the first round:

Very strong voter turnout, unusually so.

Rational people see the horrors of unlimited open borders policies of the far left.

Bit more complicated than that. People do get tired and want a change. But some elections are different. UK Tories are going to be destroyed, possibly past recovery point, because their own voters are turning against the party for failing to be conservative. If you look at British polling the combined Tory and Reform vote would be enough to deny Labour an outright victory as it's close to equivalent share. But as current works, their votes cancel each other out. There's pent up anger at the Tories from their own voters and that is why, and it's for similar reasons why Marie Le Pen is winning.

The non-LePen parties will coalesce in the second round against the far right to mitigate the impact.
