+100. There are literally zero republicans to blame in DC govt for this mess. Not since Catanya and Swartz left the council at least a decade or more ago. This is an entirely democrat manufactured problem.

Frumin was always going to be a disappointment. So was JLG. I cannot believe people fell for it. You can go back to threads from 2020 and 2022 which had plenty of people insisting that neither of them were going to take crime seriously and we'd end up worse off. And here we are! People keep complaining about the council but it's the absolutely idiotic voters of this city that got us here.

The only people who voted for him were his neighbors. All of the rest of his votes were the product of an orchestrated campaign to vote against Goulet. You can in part blame Mary Cheh for Frumin, because her reluctant endorsement is probably what took him over the top for many people who instinctively didn’t support him because he is so obviously wishy washy.

The tip-off for JLG is her accepting proudly accepting the DSA endorsement. She’s been clear about who she is from the get go.

Does anyone know why Frumin even ran? What motivates the guy? It doesn't seem like much that is actually of concern to the Ward. Is he interested in holding on to his seat? I can't even tell. Maybe if I could, I could figure out how to get through to him on crime.

Recall campaigns can be launched in January. There is a specific window when a campaign can take place. It can't be in the first year of a term or the last year.

I hear you, but it wasn't bad for the city the last time; I think it would be fine. I'm a DC native, love this city, and I'd be fine with it. It's not like the totally run the city, it's oversight. We need it.

It's that or ranked voting for me. It's really impossible to vote these fools out without ranked voting, so without that, then oversight!

Yes to mentally ill, but can that be done city level? Or is that a federal issue? Letting everyone out was on that level. How do we get people back in for treatment. I'm all for the city addressing this. But how?

I absolutely live in DC. I invested in this city. I decided to raise my kids here. Now I’m filled with regret as they are in danger and it is too late for me to move them. I was full pro statehood three years ago, and I would have gotten a DC tattoo if I could ever pull the trigger on it. Now I’m full of regret and fear because of the absolutely dangerous policies whereby victims are punished and aggressors are lauded and excused. I’m so ashamed to have been a part or this.
