St Albans forfeits football game today- why?

EHS won the IAC last year in football.

Prep should win football every year in the IAC.

GP has 130 boys per grade compared to 85 per class at Landon / STA. 65 boys at Bullis per class to less than 60 at Saint Stephens.

As would any of the other top DMV private schools. Sidwell does this all the time.

numbers are off for STA. Graduation class rarely more than 80. But I get it.

Also, STA does not recruit athletes anything like those other schools.

That’s a laughable statement. Do you think they’re putting pressure on every editor in the country and on every blogger?

If they actually have that much power in definitely sending my son there.

How bad is it?

STA recruits but it doesn't look the same as a Bullis or SJC would. The kids they recruit still meet academic criteria so their sport gives them an edge. Not unlike a Maret or Sidwell does. Maret only ~40 boys per grade. Curious how they can field a good team during soccer season.

Not true, they recruit and not always academically strong kids either. Remember the star quarterback they recruited away from Good Counsel after winning the WCAC Championship. That plan did not go as expected for STA or the quarterback who ended up with a losing season at STA and committing to Elizabeth City State University. STA spent a lot of money trying to have a successful football season and, in the end, the recruit would likely have been better off if he had stayed at Good Counsel.

This kid had other D1 offers that most would view as much better. Not sure why he chose where he did.

What do you mean that nobody knows what happened? Lots of people know what happened, but just not you.

Sounds like they would be better off moving to the league with Sidwell and Maret. These schools are smaller and don’t recruit/admit as many athletes.

If you weren't in the room or reading the police report, you don't know what happened.

You know what kids and parents have told you has happened, but that doesn't necessarily make it accurate.

There is a difference.

Some years are better with athletics but STA still does okay. It is never going to be St. john’s and that is fine too.

Yes ask your kids. If your kid goes to Maret, Sidwell or NCS they will know a few kids at STA.
