Private & Independent Schools
| I don't know what happened. But if this was DS's high school, WaPo would already have a story out -- as past experience proves. |
Too bad your kid doesn’t go to a school that has such influence and power over a national newspaper. You should see the headmaster’s office at STA where he had a special computer that he uses to review the newspaper each evening before they print and kill stories he doesn’t like. They leave the censoring of the local news shows to the assistant head of school. |
SO, YOU HAVE NO IDEA WHAT HAPPENED, BUT YOU WRITE ANYWAY! UGH! |
| To the person with the sarcastic response regarding the special computer, if you really think that parents, alumni, and administrators at all these schools don’t have any sway with this sort of thing and personal reasons to kill these types of stories, you are naive and obviously didn’t attend one yourself. This is a tale as old as time and anyone who is from here or has lived here long enough knows that there is one school the Post has it out for and thus seeks and always reports, and others (Sidwell mostly but also STA) that for myriad reasons they want to keep out of the media. Live in the now and at the very least the most outer circles of Washington🙄 |
Oh please. “Just plain nosiness” is a normal human reaction to a 15 page thread that has gone on for more than a week with still no explanations. |
Oh spare me. Powerful people and institutions are exposed in the newspapers and news every hour of the day. STA is a fairly anonymous small all boys private school. Take your head out of the conspiracy clouds and face reality. If something is out there, they will write it. Such a typical conspiracy theorist answer. |
| Not a conspiracy theorist, just someone born and raised here who has seen what gets in the paper and what doesn’t for years and years. Such a gaslighter response from you 🙄 |
| Also your conspiracy theorist response suggests you have no clue who is related to whom and whose kids go or have gone where. If you don’t think those people would prefer their child’s school stays out of the news, you’re crazy. And if you don’t think people who work at the Post and other news organizations want to get their kids in Sidwell, STA, Maret, etc and thus do not want to get on the wrong side of those administrators and admissions people, you’re dumb. |
Appeals to authority where none exists will get you kicked off of the forensics team! |
Walking into a lawsuit for Rolling Stoning something will also insure your kid never gets into a good school. |
| Anyway I am glad whatever allegedly happened didn’t make its way into this forum or the news - if it has anything to do with your kids or their friends, you will hear it yourself via word of mouth. If you haven’t heard it that way, it must have nothing to do with your kids or anyone they know and you should mind your business. |
This times 1000. |
And a completely unverifiable response from you. Roll your eyes all you want but you have nothing to offer here. |
| 15 pages and nothing? |
If they can get to the WaPo you don’t think STA can get to DCUM? |
