That last sentence just isn’t true. What is it with the posters who constantly state that no man could possibly prefer a heavier woman to a thinner woman.

Well, look at celebrity men who have a choice to pick who anyone they want. On a scale 1-10 how many of them are with heavier women?

Seriously? Umm does the average man in the dmv look anything like those celebrity men? Has it occurred to you that when you are extremely attractive and wealthy you can have the most beautiful woman? The pudgy balding men who frequent these forums are not the same caliber.

Exactly. these men on here are so delusional. Literally no awareness of how they look, just some porn sick dream of what they can pressure their partner into looking like. The funny thing is I date almost exclusively gym bros who are absolutely ripped and shredded. I'm mid sized, I guess, and they love it. They tend to want girls with some curves or "meat". I think it's a boomer thing to obsess over rail thin women- it's very strange to me, when these men are literally curvier than the women they want to be with, lmaoooo

In a lot of places/scenes, it’s not a boomer thing. It’s a class thing. “Meat” is not classy.

The human eye is drawn to beauty which is really the freshness of youth- it is glorified and illuminated in art, poetry, music, etc.
Men are drawn to slender and make-up free because it mimics youth. No one thinks that a 50+ woman shouldn’t cover up her sun spots with some foundation and put a dab of cheer on her lips. At a certain age, a no make-up face just looks unkempt. Yes, there are outliers- we’ve all seen the models with Native American blood or similar in magazines: strong cheekbones, long silver hair, tanned skin and slim. A Ralph Lauren model is not your typical aging white woman. Women choose educated partners without a cruel streak and you can be companions into your dotage.

The only thing I really care about is her staying relatively fit. She has gained 60+ pounds.

Same. This is all I really care about. And, I do it myslef so I’m not asking for her to do anything I’m not willing to. Also, I don’t even ask her, staying fit has always been something that she does for herself.

Not really. I am a young Gen X, and it is very much a class thing.

So that is an age thing. You're in your 40s at minimum... it's okay! But you're not a "youth" anymore

My husband is either supremely diplomatic or doesn’t notice makeup. He does notice nice clothes, e.g. whenever I have a big meeting for work.

Hood grooming is great but made up looks are more surprising when done occasionally. People stop noticing when someone is always dolled up.

This comment makes me give pause. She could be the most amazing women but unless she puts make up she may not be worthy of love?

Dont listen to these people. Most of them are deranged in failing relationships if not perpetually single and miserable

Anonymous wrote:As usual, a DCUM thread asking men what they think is mostly answered by women saying what they think men think or what they think men should think.

Yes, we care. But most likely we won't directly say anything about it unless you've gone downhill a long way. We know that if we say anything about you not looking nice, you'll get defensive and lash out at us.

I'm sure if your wife told you grew a big fat belly that you would take that very well.

because the forum skews towards women

Skews towards women who can't resist the urge to talk even when other women don't want them to talk.

Why don't you take your own advice?
Don't you believe in the first amendment?

+1. It’s 2023. Women are valued for more than their appearance. Catch up.
