Except the court is fractured. Republicans on the court are supporting the legislature |
But democrats have the majority on the court so they can outvote the republicans. |
| I bet the GOP ends up impeaching the entire WI Supreme Court. Book it. |
|
The GOP will impeach but delay any "conviction" trial, leaving the court in limbo.
If they had a trial and there was a guilty verdict, the governor could appoint a replacement. So that isn't what will happen because the goal is to delay and retain power, not to actually exercise a functioning government. |
She could resign and be reappointed by the governor. |
| The WI GOP is circling the drain. It’s a state with a proud progressive tradition tagt has come back to that. |
Yup. Good news about the one who said he won’t vote for this. I’d be checking my rear view constantly if I were him. |
| It's almost like republicans reject democracy when they are on the losing end |
Examples abound but January 6th is a great example. |
|
Is there no outrage in WI? Or elsewhere (except here on this thread)? I'm not hearing alot about this situation. . . . and it's quite shocking that I'm not.
This is undemocratic. Fascist, even. How does this end? And how can ANY court or legislature sanction this blatant power grab? |
| I mean, if people want to argue that she should recuse herself from hearing certain cases, have at it. But impeachment? No. That’s bonkers. The Wis. GOP is near death rattle stage. Gerrymandered maps are vastly inflating their legislative numbers. The key WOW county suburbs are trending blue. It’s a good hearted, left leaning state that is vastly more interesting than the DMV. It’s voters will do the left thing. They have had enough of the GOP. |
