I moved from being mostly liberal to being on the right during the pandemic. Around that time, I noticed DeSantis and his common sense approach to many things. When he banned sex ed in Florida public schools, I thought that was great. And then when he kicked Disney in the pants, I really took notice. Conservatives never lash out at businesses.
Now people say he is boring and has no personality. This has me swooning. I would LOVE a president who is all action and no distraction. Love. Bring me more of this boring man. |

Sure...it's easy
He has a common sense approach to governing the state. He is running Florida well, they're a booming state and he runs from a standpoint of logic and rules and not from woke BS. Not sure what is so hard to comprehend here. |
It sounds like you didn't have any understanding of whay being a liberal is. Like, you were probably liberal because people around you were liberal. |
|
If you like what DeSantis is doing, then you like dictatorships.
My friends who are teachers there were told to take EVERY book out of their classrooms or the faced being charged with a felony. You really approve of that? |

It doesn’t matter what you think. People vote with their feet.
States that are “liberal” like NY, California, NJ are losing hundreds or thousands of people. And they are moving to “conservative” states like Texas and Florida!!!! Why? Less taxes, more freedoms from regulation, better jobs, less crime, less overall government rules and BS. So get back to me when you see hundreds of thousands of people moving California and NY because they love the policies there. |
| Moving to…. |
Boomers retiring. Film at 11. |
You sound like someone who's never been "mostly liberal" a day in your life. And his culture war is ALL distraction. |
|
Boomers afraid of slipping on ice move to cheaper hot state!
|
"According to the Move.org report, 65% of the people who moved were between the ages of 25 and 44 and most people moved between August and October of 2020." (not retirement age and not Boomers) https://florida-edc.org/blog/september-2021/florida,-here-they-come |

The California to Texas migration is not that.
Business after business is leaving California to Texas. Family after family is also leaving California for places like Austin. Better quality of life, more affordable, less of govt telling you what you can and can’t do. You got to be lying to yourself if you think quality of life in California is better than Texas for many people. Sure, no oceans, Silicon Valley, Hollywood. But if your raising a family, and you can’t afford a house in California, I’d rather be in Texas. |
People can not afford to buy a house in California. This isn’t news. |
I have a haiku for you… It was better to be Outside during the pandemic Yay ventilation Ok. So it’s not the correct number of beats. But you get the gist! |
This is probably a separate topic, but neither Dems nor Reps seem to be “pro-business”. Reps are for smaller government, which translates to lower taxes, but they seem to have aligned with a populist rather than pro- business outlook over the last decade or so. |
So you don't believe in the standard conservative values of local control over education and freedom of speech (including for corporations)? |
