Can someone explain how DeSantis ever wins?

Business after business is leaving California to Texas. Family after family is also leaving California for places like Austin.

Better quality of life, more affordable, less of govt telling you what you can and can’t do.

You got to be lying to yourself if you think quality of life in California is better than Texas for many people. Sure, no oceans, Silicon Valley, Hollywood. But if your raising a family, and you can’t afford a house in California, I’d rather be in Texas.

Re-read your statement. They are going to Austin, a known progressive enclave with a reputation for being cool. They are not going to Hill Country, or even Dallas.

This whole thread misses the point. The people who care about DEI were never going to vote for DeSantis. DeSantis's problem and the reason he won't win the presidency is Donald Trump. Trump is going to be spending the next 18 months bashing DeSantis, and DeSantis is going to be forced to sit in the corner and take it because he's too scared of alienating Trump's base to fight back. He looks like a weak little girl and that's not what the big macho men that make up the MAGA base want to see.

The thing about DeSantis is that even if you disagree with some of his policy choices, he's just so warm and personable that you can't help but still like him. I mean the guy has friends everywhere - it's why he has all these longstanding relationships that he can fall on for support and guidance - and if he isn't already a friend, the second you meet him he becomes on. Sure it's no fun when he's tearing the books out of your home bookshelf for the pyre, or going door to door demanding the menstruation records for every female in the house, but - I don't know. THere's just something about him that you can't help but love at the end of the day!

Tell me this isn't a guy you want to go run around town carrying pitchforks with.

People can not afford to buy a house in California. This isn’t news.

Exactly. CA's big problem is its messed up housing policy combined with a long-time booming economy, which has led to skyrocketing housing prices. TX doesn't have that problem yet because it has not been booming as long and so there's still plenty of undeveloped land in prime areas, but it will get there.

It’s real. Here are others from the Biden visit after the hurricane.

It’s an undoctored Associated Press photo. The photographer is AP’s chief photographer Evan Vucci who has won a Pulitzer and an Edward R. Murrow award for his work. So you can’t see shit. Sorry your guy looks bad though.

Of course it's a doctored photo. I don't care that the photographer won an Emmy for it. It's doctored because it doesn't look right. Real people who look like that don't yuk it up with Biden. These are paid actors planted to embarrass DeSantis with lies.

Are you being sarcastic or are you mentally ill? It has to be one or the other, right?

Who's embarrassed? D is doing what he does - being charming, warm, making people feel like they are in the company of a good friend. You can see it plain as day! Why do you hate Ron DeSantis so much that you ignore what's in front of your own eyes like that? YOU are the one who's embarrassing him.

I think it's highly doubtful that DeSantis will have national appeal if he--or by extension FL lawmakers--continue to trample on the rights of others. The latest? Requiring female high school athletes to report their menstrual history to their school. Can't see how such a policy would have appeal outside RWNJ territory--and it certainly will come back to bit him in the a**.

DeSantis is actually doing what he does best. Walking past Biden who is telling his Corn Pop story to a couple of his admirers. Or, maybe he is reminiscing about things his dad used to say. He is good at that.
DeSantis is off to get things done. Biden is happy standing around telling lies and stories.

DeSantis got stuff done with federal money from Biden, friend.

His lack of charm is part of the charm, don'tcha know! I can't help but think that people would turn over their daughters' menstrual records a little easier if he smiled while demanding them tho.
