ED is so they can identify the full pay kids. |
When you yield protect in state qualified applicants then you are second tier and have a second tier mentality. Frankly more like third tier. |
No yield protecting, just selective admissions. That means not all high stat kids will get in. |
So bitter. |
Exactly. Amazing how this is understood and accepted with other schools, but for some reason not with VT. They can pick and choose the students they want, period. So much entitlement from those whose kids were not accepted. |
Not bitter - kids have not applied yet. Just observing the patterns and that the other local schools are more fair and transparent - Virginia, Maryland, George Mason, VCU etc.. Hope DC is not interested in VT so we can skip the VT admissions games. |
Entitlement - good word. When did you learn it and how many times do you plan to use it? |
VT is the most transparent school we looked at when it comes to admission stats. I can’t think of another school that publishes detailed data about every major they offer and the corresponding stats. We found that extremely useful. |
As often as necessary, which here on DCUM means every day. |
+100 Those willing to be objective understand. |
Then explain how both kids with 1100-1200 SATs and 3.3 to 3.4 unweighted are getting in for non Eng? |
Because why would you go to VT/VCU/JMU/GMU et al of you get into UVA or W8M? And won’t try to limit this to Engr…. |
How do their essays and activities compare? How about Tech’s short response questions? That’s part of a holistic review used by selective schools. |
DP. Whose kids are you talking about? I call BS. |
Sad. What has happened to our colleges? . This kid should be in. Awful. |
