| Would you go test optional with a 1230 SAT and 3.7 w GPA? |
| 3.7 weighted? No chance either way. |
| What's their CDS range? |
They ain’t getting in. This is awful |
I’m assuming this is not engineering. Even then, weighted GPA? Nope. Maybe consider CNU or UMW. Or VCU for a large school. |
| Depends on the major. |
| My daughter had a 33 ACT (equivalent to 1510 on SAT) and a 3.5 from a DC private and was waitlisted last year. So, I don't think these stats will cut it. Sorry to be a downer. |
I can’t speak to VT, but 33 ACT converts to a 1460 SAT, roughly - the range is 1450-1480. A 34 converts to a 1500 and 35 is a 1540. Just want to clarify in case folks are relying on data. |
It's not that awful. For engineering no, but maybe something else. And if something else is the case maybe JMU would be better choice. |
| We need more information? Are you from VA? Public or private? |
| JMU then transfer! |
Are you a Virginia resident family? Just curious because my DC has a 3.6 un-weighted and 1450 SAT (from a DC private) and is hoping there might be a shot at VT? And I wouldn't mind the tuition. |
Also - DC is not interested in Engineering. Undecided... |
Yes. We live in northern VA. But she applied to a small program. Maybe that had something to do with it. |
According to Princeton Review, a 33 ACT converts to a 1490-1510 SAT. But, not worth arguing over. |
