I've lost over 95 pounds in the last ~18 months and have about another 6 to go to get to my goal weight of 155 lbs (I'm 5 7). Have been up and down over the same two pounds over the holidays and some travel from the last few weeks, and while I was considering trying to go even lower I think I'll be ready for maintenance once I get to 155, which is my college weight.

I really hope I can push through and make it to through these last 6 pounds! It was such a big goal and I'm so close! But the ups and downs (ha) of the last month made progress slower and harder -- gotta finish strong though! Good luck everyone!

I'm up two pounds since I last posted and today's my cheat day so I'll be up a little more tomorrow. I had a tuna fish sandwich on pumpernickel bread with alfalfa sprouts for the first time in maybe two years today and it was delicious! No regrets there!

We were cleaning up our childhood home last month and while I ate healthily while I traveled, once I got home I ate all of my feelings for a while. One day I hope to get to my goal weight of 155 but it won't be in February. That's okay, I'm going to keep at it, and I hope others are doing well and better than me!

Coming back in here as the PP 53 year old woman to report that I did eventually finish strong and make my goal weight, yay. Now I'm maintaining and thinking about maybe losing a little bit more, but in general I'm happy where I am.

I've got to get back on it because my frame is slight, I carry my weight in my middle / upper body and I should lose another 10lbs.

wow you're really slim. 140 probably the right weight for you.

well my legs are skinny and they have always been skinny, it's my middle that's an issue and I've still got a grabbable pooch.

It's hard to say what is the right weight for a certain height. So many factors. I have a similar body type (I think it's an apple) where I have thin legs and no hips/butt and all my weight goes to my middle/upper body. It's not a shape that does well with extra weight. I'm currently 5'8" 153 and I have a gut.

Ugh - 5'8" and 150 and all my weight goes to my gut too. It's the worst. And when I lose weight, I seem to lose it from everywhere else. So annoying.

I am 53 (1970 woohoo!) and 5’10” - i was 195 at the start and cannot get below 185 no matter what diet I try and anything beyond a basic workout I get injured -(bad hip and knees) so I can’t be too agressive with workouts. Just got a wegovy rx so we will see if that helps/

I was the same post menopause - could drop 7-10 pounds but not below that. I started Ozempic 6 weeks ago and am down 13 so far. My goal is 160, which is another 14 lbs., and I feel like I will be able to get there.

The hip and knee issues should start to reduce as you drop pounds. Joint pain is one of the reasons I am focused on losing weight, in addition to being pre-diabetic.

Good luck!

I'm glad this thread is back. I'm 54 now (I think I was 53 when it was started by OP). I went down from about 170 lbs to 140 lbs. I'm now at 145 lbs but watching it.

My doctor just upped the progesterone in my HRT and I’m down 10 pounds in three weeks. I was dieting and exercising without losing weight for almost 2 years. It was beyond frustrating!! Like suicidal almost. No amount of calorie restriction was working and I even had my BMR tested.

I think this is my issue. Whenever I bring up my menopausal hormone concerns I get dismissed. Can you share what practice you are going to HRT or recommend any others? Thanks!
