And this is case in point for the overwrought and over dramatic perception of risk many of us don’t share with you. |
Smoking cigarettes is not the equivalent of breathing. Secondhand smoke is a hazard in every circumstance. A person just breathing without a mask is not. Unless you’re going to argue that everyone around you is covid positive? The only place that’s true would be in a covid ward of a hospital. |
For those of us in the back: Are pants the specific article of clothing that you are referring to? Then the answer is an emphatic YES! |
Not when I view it as a simple courtesy during a pandemic for 35 minutes in a grocery store. No, that list is pretty much who you are. |
I hope you don’t get hay fever from carrying around that straw man. |
We don’t care about your personal risk assessment, you don’t get to decide whether you catch a disease or not and you don’t get to decide that if you have a disease that you are not going to pass it on and who you pass it on to. |
You seem to have a problem making a distinction between your personal preferences, on the one hand, and rules binding on other people, in the other. I think that’s the disconnect here. You wanting people to wear a mask to meet your personal preferences is like me wanting people to not wear white past Labor Day. We’re both going to be disappointed. |
And you don’t get to decide that other people need to follow your personal rules on mask wearing. |
Doing what you want based on a personal risk assessment is ok if you decide to ride out a hurricane in your beach house, you can’t give someone else a hurricane, but you may put someone’s life at risk if you need to be rescued. |

I haven’t said that you need to wear a mask. I have said repeatedly that it is a courtesy and people who don’t wear them for the 35 minutes inside Walmart they are the type of people who a pound of hamburger in the toy section when they change their mind about it. |
Sounds like you want a mandate if your main problem is with “personal rules”. The quickest way to avoid mandates would be voluntary compliance. Yoi don’t seem to grasp this point. |
I honestly think you’re talking to at least 2 of us, but your original post was aimed at me. You noticed I didn’t deny your “observations”? What observations? I’ve never met you. Again, there’s nothing I can do about the stories you decide to invent in your head, and I certainly don’t owe you any explanations. |
Correct, I hit reply to the wrong post. |
No, the quickest way to avoid mandates is to just get rid of mandates. Which is what’s happening around the country and the world. You’re still free to wear a mask forever, if you’d like. |
